Can I specify the maximum processes allowed on a user basis??

I can set it sy stem wide but I would lik e to set it per user.

Yes y ou can. It is a k ernel parameter - configurable in smit but I can't remember what it's called..... sorry

You can change the maximum number of processes allowed per user in smit.
- smit sy stem
- Change/show characteristics of Operating sy stem

The parameter y ou set at smit chgsys or with chdev -l sys0 -a maxuproc=n is GLOBA L... y ou can't set it for indiv idual users. But I guess y ou can use
Work load Manager with some trick s for that.

Elgis is right y ou can not set up for indiv idual users hopefully in AIX 5.0 probably due out in december of 2000 or early 2001 they hav e made this possible
would be great for
sy stem performance tuning.
