Re: Unit 3 project proposal
Date:
October
20,
2010
Currently
I
am
a
member
of
the
NDSU
College
of
Business
Legacy
Program,
which
is
the
premier
undergraduate
professional
development
program
whose
mission
is
to
develop
team‐oriented
leaders
prepared
to
advance
the
organization
world.
This
program
led
by
Dr.
Tim
O.
Peterson
and
Mrs.
Roxann
Williams
works
closely
with
Gate
City
Bank
to
provide
their
senior
executives
training
in
a
newly
popular
study
by
the
Gallup
Corporation
called
Strengths.
This
study
provides
the
participant
with
a
test
that
they
take
to
establish
their
top
5
strengths
out
of
34
different
themes.
By
using
positive
psychology
we
work
with
these
senior
executives
to
provide
insight
in
how
to
focus
on
your
strengths
in
your
everyday
life.
Recently
we
completed
another
presentation
with
the
Gate
City
Bank
executives
called
servant
leadership.
For
my
project
I
propose
to
create
a
report
that
combines
the
strengths
study
and
the
servant
leadership
study
specifically
for
Gate
City
Bank
that
I
can
use
in
upcoming
presentations.
This
report
will
include
an
executive
summary
and
a
short
report
following
it.
I
suspect
the
report
will
be
at
least
5
pages
and
include
at
least
one
table
or
supporting
graphic.
Objectives
In
completing
this
project
my
goal
is
to
gain
a
better
understanding
on
how
these
two
topics
(strengths
and
servant
leadership)
correlate.
After
having
a
solid
knowledge
on
the
two
individual
topics
I
believe
that
by
bringing
them
together
I
will
gain
an
even
better
understanding
of
what
they
mean
and
how
they
affect
our
lives
in
personal
relationships
and
business
relationship.
I
feel
that
this
project
will
also
benefit
the
executives
of
Gate
City
Bank
because
I
will
be
using
their
specific
information
regarding
their
strengths
and
their
servant
leadership
scores.
It
will
show
the
members
of
this
company
what
servant
leadership
aspects
come
naturally
to
them
based
on
their
natural
strengths
and
what
servant
leadership
aspects
they
will
need
to
work
harder
on
in
order
to
become
competent.
I
believe
this
project
will
also
give
me
more
experience
in
writing
professional
reports
about
different
topics.
Method
To
complete
this
report
I
am
going
to
take
previous
information
based
on
the
strengths
test
that
Gate
City
Bank
has
completed
and
the
servant
leadership
scores.
The
servant
leadership
scores
were
obtained
by
having
people
who
work
closely
with
them
fill
out
a
survey.
We
will
take
those
results
and
put
them
together
in
a
spreadsheet
in
order
to
look
at
where
certain
strengths
lend
themselves
to
certain
leadership
behaviors.
I
will
then
code
the
strengths
with
the
help
of
Dr.
Tim
O.
Peterson
and
put
them
into
a
program
called
SPSS,
which
is
statistical
software
created
by
IBM.
The
information
produced
by
SPSS
will
then
help
me
come
to
a
conclusion
on
what
strengths
align
well
with
which
servant
leadership
aspects.
After
analyzing
all
of
this
data
I
will
then
continue
with
some
background
research
on
strengths
by
using
two
books
that
I
own
called
StrengthsFinder
2.0,
which
was
written
by
Tom
Rath
and
the
book
Strength
Based
Leadership
also
written
by
Tom
Rath
and
Barry
Conchie.
These
two
books
will
allow
me
to
look
up
what
each
strength
really
is
and
how
each
strength
works
in
our
everyday
life.
