iKhutbah: Life A Sacred Right

God Almighty says in the Quran, “The believers are brothers”. And the Prophet,
peace and blessings be upon him, said, “I saw on my night journey, people who were
flying over the Sirat bridge. So I asked Jibril, “Who are these people? Are they
prophets?” Jibril replied “no”. The Prophet then asked, “Are they angels?” and Jibril
replied “no”. So he asked Jibril, “Who are these people then?” Jibril replied, “They
are people who used to visit others in order to please God, and who used to greet one
another to please God, and they used to sit with others to please God.

This is the benefit of brotherhood in the religion. Brotherhood is indeed a great

matter, that a person loves all his fellow brothers and sisters in Islam. Islam is a great
religion. Islam is an important religion for every person, and for all humanity. It is
suitable for every age and for every place. We ask Almighty God to guide our steps, to
unite us on piety, to unite us on the prayer and success in order that we build a true
and sincere Islamic community that pleases God.

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The day the sun sets without
me getting closer to God is a day when there was no blessing in the sun having risen.”
So glad tidings to all who are guided to God, and glad tidings to all those who work
hard at spreading the message. Glad tidings to those who do good and righteous
things. Glad tidings to all who love in order to please God. Glad tidings to all who
greet and meet each other for God. Glad tidings to all who sit with one another for
God.

God willing we will have lectures on the religion of God, the moderate and middle
way, as well as the rules and laws of purification, the laws of the deceased, and the
rights of married couples. The rights of the husband over the wife and the wife over
the husband, and how God has commanded the family to live according to sound and
correct foundations and rules. So through this, society can be advanced to all that is
good and successful.

Praise is to God lord of the worlds and may His peace and blessings be upon his
Prophet.
