    PURPOSE: Major announcement in the race for Alderman.

    Matt Harrington will announce on Sunday that he is an official write-in candidate for
    Aurora's Alderman at Large, for the up-coming April 5, 2011 election. A write-In
    Candidate is when a person name is not printed on the ballot but can be elected to office
    if the voter writes-in, the candidate’s name.
    This comes directly as a result of being challenged Ms. Peggy Hicks whom was working
    in tandem for the incumbent Richard Irvin; to challenge his residency.
    Mr. Harrington first announced his candidacy for this office in May of 2010, since then
    Matt has been one of the hardest working candidates in Aurora. Meeting with the AAPO
    as well as the Aurora local 99 Firefighters union and the postal Carriers Union as a
    member of this community, Matt Submitted over 1,100 petition signatures to be placed
    on the ballot for the April 5 2011 election. In a on-line poll conducted from January,
    when early voting started, thru the end of early voting Matt received 74% of the
    voted cast with the incumbent trailing with only 9%
