 Analysis of Theoretical and Practical Add On.
Theoretical Add On:

Pick up = 86%

Concentration of softener used = 30 g/L

Theoretical Add On = (g/L * P.U %) /1000

= (30*86)/1000

= 2.58%

It means 100g fabric should take amount of finish = 2.58 g

Practical Add On:

GSM before finishing = 109

GSM after finishing = 113

Finish amount Applied= 113-109 = 4 g

109g fabric taking amount of finish = 4 g

100g fabric taking amount of finish = (4/109)*100

= 3.6 %

It means 100g fabric taking amount of finish = 3.6 g

DIFFERENCE

In Practical and Theoretical Add On = 3.6 – 2.58

= 1.02 g

REASONS OF DIFFERENCE IN PRACTICAL AND THEORATICAL ADD ON:

1. Pick up variation
2. Finish is not applied uniformly
