If – clauses

Type 1 If – clause + verb in Simple Present / main clause + verb


in the Future
ex. If I have money, I will buy a car.
If she doesn’t take care, she won’t get better.
Type 2 If – clause + verb in Simple Past /main clause + verb in the
Conditional
ex. If I had money, I would buy a car.
If she didn’t like the teacher, she wouldn’t have good marks.

Attention: with the verb to be you always use the form were in the if – clause.

A. Fill in the spaces with the right form of the verbs in brackets.

B. Rewrite the following sentences using the if – clauses type 2
