 The field of industrial relations (also called labour
relations) looks at the relationship between management
and workers
 “Industry” refers to “any productive activity in which
an individual (or a group of individuals) is (are)
engaged”. By “relations” we mean “the relationships that
exist within the industry between the employer and his
workmen

The ISO 14001 certified Bhilai Township is maintained and
managed by Town Services Department, which caters to
housing, maintenance; education, environmental, hygiene and

value, Null Hypothesis is Regected and Alternate Hypothesis is
accepted and We can say workers have a +ve perception of
Work Environment in BSP
FINDINGS
 the Workers of BSP are Satisfied with the
work Environment of the Plant
The Workers are Not Satisfied with the
Housing Facility and conditions of Company
Quarters
Workers relay on medical Facility of BSP
Workers are not satisfied with education
facility , they would switch to Private Schools
for their wards is Possible
The Canteen of BSP is Lacking in
Providing the Workers with Quality food and
RECOMMENDATIONS
To improve the welfare condition in BSP
adequate budget should be allotted.
House allotment system should be simplified
& more transparent.
Availability of medicines should be improved
Parents and children should be made aware
towards educations facility.
More emphasis should be given on cleanliness
of the canteen
CONCLUSION
Bhilai Steel Plant is very serious in providing
all these facilities to each of the employee as
well as to the family members of the
employees by providing better infrastructure
facilities, education facilities, and medical
facilities etc equally to the all employees. To
same extent there may result some
discrimination on these issues or employee’s
perception can be different but the basic
principle or key element is to provide
excellent welfare facilities to the employees.
