I firstly designed a questionnaire to ask and the results are below.

3. Are you in to Romantic films?

4. If answered no above, why?

Most of them are really soppy and typical as they are all the same.

Many are not able to convey the same passion across, e.g. laugh, cry etc.

Just not the type of films I would watch.

6. What is it that you like about romantic films?

Being forced to cry at the effect and acting.

The ability to feel the compassion that the actors do.

The suspense that remains when there is a problem.

7. Is there anything that you would find inappropriate to watch in a romantic

film?

The detail of the nudity or sexual scenes.

Fighting or physical action that is irrelevant to the plot

8. What sort of things do you expect to see when you watch a romantic film?

Good story and some great acting – crying/laughing.

Has to be able to relate to audience.

Meeting to expectations to be emotional, romantic, funny and most of all, entertained

11. How do you like to find out about romantic films (please state why)

Trailers in the cinema as they engage you in to the film

Teaser trailers giving an insight to the story

Magazines/Posters – as you are able to see clearly what actors are in the film and
connotations of the colours used perhaps?
