Construction
Camp Special Forces
in Missan
* This project was designed by Mott Macdonald Co, at a cost of 7,500,000 USD, to be completed in nine month duration.
+ The total territory of the project is 40,000 square meters. This land was back-filled with huge quantities of neat soil. The back-
filling of soil was done in layers that are compacted to 95%. 48 novel-design buildings were constructed on this land of which
twelve 2-floor large buildings were devoted to the soldiers; the remaining premises were allocated as Officers and Administra
tive staff housing area. The camp is composed of high quality infrastructure containing training zones, weapon and poultry
arsenals, parking and car washing areas. In addition to these works , our Company installed the following systems;
= Acomplete swage network system for the Officers
residential zone linked to the soldier's zone and is run
mechanically.
* The electric power system was linked to the National
ower lines. And installing high power generators capable
of covering the whole camp which is operated
automatically,
* Installing the drinking water system to the camp and
building huge concrete tankers placed underground to be
used in emergency cases,\ XY =

The First Phase
* This phase was devoted to constructing a fuel station for the boats and vessels of the Iraqi River & Sea Police. Building this
station exhibits a modem technology suiting the requirements of Al-Faw landscape. It was designed as
a floating area at 40 M length through water. We implemented the station as interlocked large pa-
ntones liable to up/down motion matching with tide/ re-tide water movement alongside the Faw
beach; this method facilitates landing the boats for fueling them.
+The work covered a series of actions including: fixing H-pile type piles demanding under water
welding, fixing the pantones and installing diesél/and benzene pumps and then connecting them to
the tankers which were constructed inside the site.
The Second
*Inthis phase we built a floating dock with 40M length, 2M above surface and 7 M drop. This was
performed to facilitate tugging the broken vessels to the workshop and drive them to water after
maintenance. The work demanded building adry spot to shape this floating dock at one- time-
"| shoot spot with 225 CM concrete. Making out the dry spot required building a stone dam with
® ‘soil embedding. By completing this project, we deconstructed the dam, signaling the inaugur-
/ ation of the dock.sl ale Li

Rehabilitation
of Basra
province building
The project was one of the pioneers’ projects in the province; this project
needed a new design for rehabilitation because the building was damaged
during the war. The supervision was by an engineering team with reputation
and experience in this field. This project is admired by the prime minister and
the mayor of Basra.
The project cost is (5,500,000,000) ID and implemented in the limited duration
(1 year).
The project included civil, electrical, mechanical-works, also-cooling-system
works (central). Most of materials & equipments had been imported from
‘outside the country and from original manufacturers especially the olevators,
central cooling system and fire fighting system; inauguration was by the Iraqi
prime minister and he awarded the company an appreciation certificate. The
mayor of Basra closely observed the project and he awarded our company
another appreciation certificate.my - =

PROJECT VALUE: 1,445,000 $ , DURATION: 9 MONTHS
The project had been implemented in A\-Qibla district north of Basra close
to Basra University; there are more than 2000 houses in this area. This
market has been built according to modern specifications including
gardens, parking spots, stores and cafeterias as well as public toilets;
the work required filling the area with soil and sub-base with compaction to
bring the area to the normal level (level of the surrounding area), the market had
been designed as a divided circle into 4 sectors (each on contains 10 stores) within a fountain
in the middle with a sun shade. The work required co- norete bases and columns as well as the roof. The
market had been provided with generator and transformer.at

The Basic Phase
This phase covered the installation of the actuators where the control valves are operated
for activating and inactivating the (send out) dispatch pipes . These actuators are run by
a modernized electronic system ( Scada System) which direct the operation of sending
wireless signals via NEG microwave system which was imported from Japan. The work
inthis phase required building towers for transmitting the wireless signals, To guarantee
effective use of Scada and NEG Microwave systems, our Company offered capacity
building for SOC operating cadre who received training on both systems.
The Complementary Phase

Project - Basra
Al-Zaqura Group Co won a contract from Mott MacDonald for implementing Garmat Ali Swage system at a cost of 7,000,000
USD for the Directorate of Swage in Basra. Our Company encountered major obstceles while implementing the project.
The projects included installing two pump stations ,
one in Garmat Ali and the other in Bani- Malik
village. The first pump station was built at 10
meters depth underground of muddy soil , the other
one was at 6 meters depth underground. The work
also included building tanks for storing heavy
waters to be pumped through pipelines by 3 elec- [%
tric motors. In addition, the project included install-
ing pipe network with varying sizes , used to cary
the heavy waters from the residential area to the
above cited stations , as well as , building different-
size swage main holes. We also fixed rain- fall
main holes at the road sides for ran water to be
