Background: Congenital anomalies were reported and tend to increase and

dominate hospital admittance,especially in the pediatric wards in developed
countries. Anorectal malformation itself is one of congenital anomalies in children
with complex spectrum.Anorectal malformations has been identified as the third
most common cause of neonatal intestinal obstruction and also represented
neonatal emergency surgical. It is necessary to study anorectal malformations in
Abdul Wahab Sjahranie Hospital as a referral center in Kalimantan Timur.
Objective: This study aims to determine the incidence and distribution patients
with anorectal malformations by Sex, lessions and Other Congenital Anomalies
that came in Abdul Wahab Sjahranie Hospital in 2008-2009 period. Work
Method: An descriptive study was done on secondary data taken from medical
records of patients anorectal malformations in Abdul Wahab Sjahranie Hospital
for 2 years. (2008 to 2009) Result: There were 59 cases anorectal malformations,
comprising 38 men and 21 women, there were 21 cases of imperforate anus (36%)
anocutan fistula were 12 cases (20%), fistula rectouretra were 10 cases (17% ),
rectouretra fistula were 9 case (15%), bladderneck fistula were 4 cases (6%),
rectovaginal fistula were 2 cases (3%), cloaca 1 were case (2%). Distribution of
patients with anorectal malformations based on other accompanying congenital
abnormalities were found 7 cases with urogenital abnormalities (29%), skeletal
abnormalities (14%), cardiac abnormalities (14%), digestive disorders (14%),
other disorders (29%) Conclusion: Men are more likely exposed to anorectal
malformations with urogenital abnormalities that accompany most.
