Cast Notes

I chose Suleiman Imtiaz to play the part of Rick Phillip as I felt that he
had the specific characteristics required for the role. I needed the actor
to be able look as though he was 20, and therefore I required an
individual who appeared to be quite an older age. The character had a
beard and more sophisticated hair which drew him away from looking
like a teenager. As my target audience are aged between 16-20, the
character needs to be able to appear as though he is roughly the
same age as the target audience, in order for them to be able to relate
to the film. Also, the character is has a good off screen relationship
with the girl and therefore it would allow their on-screen characters to
look better as the relationship between them would look more realistic.

For the role of the girl, I interviewed and auditioned several girls to play
this part as she only in parts of it and therefore the role is not as
significant. However, as there are several scenes of the boy and the girl
together, I had to ensure that the girl and boy suited well together. After
doing the interviews, I decided that the best person for this role would
be I as the on screen relationship between myself and Suleiman Imtiaz
would appear to be more realistic. Consequently, I decided that the
scenes that I was in, I framed the shot how I decided I wanted it to be
and then came in to the scene and as most of the scenes I was in were
simple shots, this task became less difficult.
