Dear Sustainability Plan Partner:

Your agency is being asked for input on the Scott County Sustainability Plan Goals and Strategies. As a "partnering organization" in Scott County on one or more of the sustainability strategies listed in the plan, Scott County government would be looking to your organization for leadership and/or participation in implementing a specific strategy or strategies.

The County was awarded funds to develop sustainability and energy goals countywide and for Scott County operations as a result of an American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) funded Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant. For several months, a Sustainability Steering Conunittee has been working to draft a list of goals and strategies for Scott County to move the County toward sustainability. The triple bottom line of sustainability examines the interconnections of the Economy, Environment and Community needs with the critical resources - air, land water, energy.

Please review the enclosed document, paying close attention to the strategies where you are shown as a partnering organization to carry out or contribute toward the sustainability strategy listed. Please let us know if you are in agreement with where your agency name has been placed and if that strategy has appropriate wording. We also would like to know if your agency has been placed incorrectly or needs to be added to additional sustainability strategies in the Plan. Please respond to this letter by December 31, 2010.
