l. In response to the Regional Training on GAD and VAWC and cognizant of the
urgency to implement and institutionalize tJre program, this Division will conduct a
two-day live-out "Division Seminar-Workshop on--Gender and Development (GAD) and
Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC)" on November 25-26, 2O1O at
Champagne Garden, Naga City. This training is complementary not only to the DepED
National GAD and VAWC Program in particular, but also in support to the National
Program of the government as mandated in R.A. 9262 known as the "Anti-Violence
Against Women and Their Children Act of 2AO4."

2. The following are the objectives of the training:

a. Orient the participants on gender concerns in accordance with the


provisions of R.A Nos. 9262 and 7610
b. Raise awareness among the participants enabling them to be more
committed and responsive to eliminating gender biases
c. Address different VAWC and Sexual Harassment issues particularly in
the workplace; and
d. Decentralize the training program in the District and School levels.

3 Expected participants are the Education Program fitperuisors, h,tbtic Schools


Dist'ict Superudsorg Division Coordinators, Administrative Olficer V, Guidonce
Coordinators/Counselors (one per Elementary and Semndary Schools uthile the CS/VHS
is allouted to send three (3) participants, Diuision GAD Core Group and $tpport Staff.

4. Participants are expected to be at the Training venue at 7:30 in the morning on


November 25 for the Registration and Opening Program.

5. Training materials, seminar kits, Certificates and meals (1 lunch and 2 snacks
per day) of the participants are chargeable against the Division GAD funds subject to
the usual accounting and auditing rules and regula.tions.
