Good food for good health
Reading (Teacher reads aloud along with the students at least three times).

The World Health organization is concerned with good food and nutrition. Good food, in
the right amounts, is necessary for good health.
Nutritionists (experts on nutrition) say there are four major food groups:

1. Fruits and Vegetables

2. Dairy products: milk, cheese, butter, yoghurt…
3. Proteins: meat, fish, chicken, eggs
4. Grains: bread, cereal

They (nutritionists) say people should eat something from each of these food groups
every day.
Officials of WHO say that the food of a country is usually the best food for the people of
that country. The right kind of food in Europe is not always the right kind of food in
Asia. Officials of WHO say that milk is not necessary for all children and adults. They
also say that the local grains and fresh fruits of a country are often better than food that
comes in cans and boxes from other countries.
Good food and nutrition are important concerns of the World Health Organization,
because good food is the key to good health.
