Agriculture's ability to feed a growing world population will increasingly depend on access to water. Our
water resources are under growing pressure, not only from agriculture, but also from municipalities,
industry, recreation and environmental protection. This conference will provide a forum to discuss these
growing pressures at the global, national and provincial scale, and how this will impact agriculture's
future opportunities and challenges. Presentations will focus on issues of water supply, water quality and
water management for agriculture in the context of increasing competition for this scarce resource.
