Abstract

The following report describes an overview of the different components of aircrafts

which were observed and worked upon in the Air India (JEOC) Jet Engine Overhaul
Complex, Palam (New Delhi). This exercise was done to form the industrial training
component of the Bachelor of Technology (Aerospace Engineering) degree.

The purpose of this training is to familiarize the student with the functioning of
different components of aircraft. These components have been studied by the
student during his past academic schedule as mentioned in the course curriculum of
B.Tech. (A.E.). In particular this report examines the participation of students as a
group in the host company i.e. Air India. This report only includes the components
that come under Aircraft Accessories Overhaul Shop and does not include the
components of Aircraft Electrical Shop and Aircraft Jet Overhaul Shop.

This objective of the training is twofold. First and foremost, it gives student practical
and hands on experience on how certain components of aircraft work. This helps in
understanding better the different aircraft components. Second, it gives students a
chance to see how an organization as big as Air India manages itself. Thus along
with practical experience of working of aircraft components it gives students an
industrial exposure of how and what to do in such type of industrial set up.
