Coast. Those shelters, he says, sus-
tained no damage during the storm.
“I think that’s the biggest testimony
there is,” Huffman says.
Based in Scottsdale, Ariz., Agate is a
general contractor that also provides
steel fabrication services. Huffman says
the company’s unique combination of
services set it apart in the Southwest as
well as the rest of the country. The com-
pany has its own steel manufacturing
plant, which is certified by the American
Institute of Steel Construction (AISC).
In addition to the company’s diverse
capabilities, Huffman says Agate is
known for its attention to detail and
focus on customer service. The compa-
ny has impressed no less a customer
than the U.S. Air Force, which has called
on the company more than 25 times to
build facilities ranging from airplane
canopies to storage buildings.
