2. I am fully confident that all our efforts will be made by one and all to
build up the image of this ________________.
1. I am sure you are well saddled on the new horse – ‘Helms of affairs of
_________ (name of unit). Inspite of your best efforts and briefing – there
will be FUs in day to day affairs : some inadvertently, some by
carelessness and some by default – These have to be taken in a stride (as
part of the job) and one has to handle these FUs with patience and
controlled emotions / anger – Coolness will always pay. Never be
revengeful – Forgiveness may be best punishment. Harm done by the slip
of words can’t be retrieved. Never ridicule a person (esp Sr Offrs or JCOs)
in front of others. “Temper, Tongue and Temptation” – Must watch out
these 3 Ts. Comd is a Heady Wine – don’t let it go in your head at any
tem – Pride hath a fall.
2. Don’t try to reform the system / unit in one day – do so gradually.
Golden PS :-
(a) Always carry your team of ldrs – offrs, JCOs (Jr Ldrs). It is a
MUST – May be by carrot and stick (Be corrective, Not punitive).
(i) Trg.
(c) for one, have always advocated the “Family Concept” – Unit is
a family / home. What you do for your own family viz feelings,
medical etc and what you expect from them: if the same is kept in
view for your unit / sub unit – things will generally never go wrong.
3. You must harmonize the environment in which you operate and have
a balanced disposition towards your higher HQ, colleagues and
subordinates. A free flow of comn (lateral and vertical) is a must to avoid
misunderstandings and to get a proper feedback, which is essential in
comd.
4. The above are just a few random pts – I thought I shall pen them for
you.
