ABSTRACT

File Transfer in Intranet

In the project mentioned above we will be using the concepts of core java along with the
fundamentals of client-server architecture and computer networking. This project is based
on transferring files, documents etc in the locally connected network in any building via
intranet or local area network.

The project uses the main features as:

1. Fundamentals of local area network and computer networking.

2. Client-server architecture in computer network.

3. Concepts of transferring file in a network i.e. concept of FTP (File Transfer

Protocol).

4. Fundamentals of mail transfer in between clients.

5. Feature of programming language JAVA.

The project thus developed can be used for important document transfer in an
institutional or an organizational body that have its systems connected via a network that
is also institutional i.e. LAN or Intranet. Thus without a connection with the outside
network all connected clients can interact and distribute papers, notices, documents,
letters etc without any manual distribution for the same.
