THE EFFECTS OF PARENTS MIGRATION ON CHILDREN LEFT

Considering the current global economic crisis and Romania's EU accession, Romanians
began to turn increasingly to countries with a developed economy, where conditions are better
and more advantageous to work, thus leading to undesirable situation: family breakdown and
abandonment of children to grandparents or other relatives with serious psychological
consequences for them.
Assumptions:
- it is presumed that these children become aggressive, marginalized, anxious, have poor
performance at school or leaves school;
- it is presumed that on long term, this generation of children deprived of parental love and
family harmony can become problematic adults. Psychologists do not exclude the possibility
that some of this children can become felons.
It is recommended that the family who makes the decision that one or both parents will go to
work abroad, to ask for psychologists, school counselors or social workers help.
