Analysis of Errors in English made by The Second Year Stundets of SMP
Darut Tauhid, Patemon - Probolinggo are expected to give input to the remedical teaching program. The present study passive voice in the : simple present, present continous, simple past, past continous, present perfect, past perfect, and infinice passive. The purpose of this study are : 1. To identity and classify the type of erros of the second year students of junior high school in using English passive voice. 2. To describe the freQuency of occurance of the errors base on of the type of errors. Student errors identified in this study were categorized into four types, namely, erros of omission, addition, misformation, and misordering. The result of further analysis show that the students have problems in using and constructing English Passive Voice. The problem which were especially dealing with use of grammatical features in changing Active sentence into Passive sentence with subject and number or with subject and tense. Thus, the students were often found to make errors in using it. The average number of Errors made by all of the students were 44,93%, it can cluded that the students mastery in using passive voice as poor. Further in terms of tenses the most difficult for the students to make was Passive Voice in the Present Perfect, Present Continuous,Infinitive, Simple Present, Past Perfect, and Simple Past, the easiest one.
