The dichotomy does exist between the marathon of ancient societal needs
and the galloping requirements of these globalized societies. It is an
observant fact that the people have a race against time in order to meet
their spawning demands that are imposed by the so called corporate world
or business set ups. Consequently, the Domain of Information Technology is
considerate enough to understand the unjustified requirements of the
contemporary world. Besides, the IT’s efforts to satisfy the inordinate desires
of common man (particularly in terms of entertainment) may lead to some
kind of suspicion.

Considering the fleeting changes in the current scenario, the objectives of

the paper has been defined on various grounds like observing the IT
development in Karnataka and its parallel impact on theatre and also to
provide suggestions to regain the lost glory of Kannada Theatre.

Besides, this paper deals with the Definition of Entertainment and Its
Application through various mediums and their gravity of impact on the
psyche of individuals. In continuation, the paper observes some critical facts
related to the changing mind set of the contemporary generation related to
entertainment and their non-inclination towards the theatre.

In terms of Theatrical Performance; one of the Major Mediums of

Entertainment in the Past, a microscopic view into the past entertainment
resources reveal that the theatre acted as the most important mediums of
entertainment and it was also a tool in bringing reformation in the thought
process of an individual and the society. However, the psychological and
societal implications on individuals have brought a lot of transformation in
their sources of entertainment. In this paper, these implications are clearly
observed and their practicalities are validated.
