This Microsoft PowerPoint presentation introduced Andrew Jackson during a lesson about
Andrew Jackson and the Indian Removal during the Fall 2010 semester. It provided students
with an overview of Jackson, along with some information about the Indian Removal.
Additionally, a notes page was created for students using a modified version of the
presentation.

  


This artifact shows that I can utilize a computer program to generate a tool which can be used
to introduce students to new material. This artifact also shows that I can easily manipulate
data to make it more accessible and useful to students.

  

    


This artifact demonstrates that I have learned at least one way to utilize technology in the
classroom. I have learned that instead of writing every word on the classroom chalkboard
takes much time, and that a PowerPoint presentation (or any other technology) provides me
with the ability to be more efficient. The planning may require a large time commitment, but
the efficiency in the classroom will be worth the effort. Also, I have learned how to
manipulate the presentation visually through using different color schemes, computer
settings, and the ability to use a projector.
