From Clay Tables to E-books

People have always shared ideas by telling stories. Sometimes those stories were written
down. The earliest books were made in the middle East on clay tables. Pictures not words were
cut into the clay and then the clay was dried. Not many of these stories have survive because
old cay tables break very easily. The Egyptians began using a new kind of material around
35000B.C. the smashes reeds to make papyrus. Papyrus was flat and thin. Writers drew
pictures using ink. Papyrus was more portable and less breakable than clay. Some of these
books were found in Egyptian tombs.

Paper was invented in 105 A.D. by Tsia Lun IN China. Back then paper was handmade and was
very expensive. Much later in 1798, a new papermaking machine was invented making
cheaper to produce. Since then millions of books have been printed today some books don’t
even use paper. You can read electronic book or e-books on computers you can aoso listen to
audio books .

No matter how they´re made all books do one thing books bring us sotries even from long ago
and far away.
