Dear Friend and fellow Citizen,

We were all proud to welcome Bill Montgomery as the new County Attorney for
Maricopa County along with the entire 2010 electoral class that swept the many state and local
races this past election cycle.

Bill Montgomery was elected Maricopa County Attorney pledging to serve, fight crime,
and honor the rights of victims of crime, and protect and strengthen our community. Bill also
pledged to do his part to end rancor in county government and work with fellow elected
officials to deliver services as county taxpayers had a right to expect and deserved.

I would like to share with you some of Bill’s accomplishments from his first six months
in office. A December 20, 2010 headline in the Arizona Republic boasted, “Maricopa County
supervisors, attorney mend ties; Board to return civil-law duties to County Attorney's Office in
accord.” The next day the Republic also wrote, “Elections, as we know, have consequences. But it
is astonishing to see the election of Bill Montgomery paying off for voters as quickly as it is.”

In fighting crime, Bill worked with legislators to close loopholes enabling stronger
penalties for teachers who take advantage sexually of students and for organizers of multiple
drop houses engaged in human smuggling, as well as banning the dangerous marijuana-like
product known as “Spice.” In protecting the rights of victims of crime, Bill helped champion
legislation permitting crime victims to seek criminal restitution orders when probationers
abscond from supervision. Each piece of legislation passed overwhelmingly with bipartisan
support.

To protect and strengthen our community, Bill formed Business and Community
Advisory Councils and has spoken nearly 30 different community groups to report, listen, and
answer questions from fellow Maricopa County residents. If Bill’s track record is a roadmap for
the future, the next eighteen months bode well for Maricopa County.

I welcome you to join Bill, his fellow West Point alumnus, 2010 Senate Candidate from
Alaska, Joe Miller, and Maricopa County Sheriff, Joe Arpaio on Wednesday, May 25th as we
gather to congratulate Bill on a job well done and support him for the work that lies ahead. If
you are unable to attend, we welcome you to support Bill by returning the enclosed
contribution sheet. Thank you for your continued involvement.

Sincerely,

Mark Goldman Jessica Smith
