Cum este vremea iarna?

What is the weather like in winter?

Iarna, vremea este rece şi ninge. Cerul este mai mult acoperit. Uneori
suntem blocaţi de viscol.
In winter the weather is cold and it’s snowing. Most of the time, the sky is
cloudy. Sometimes we are stuck in the blizzard.

Cum este vremea primăvara?

What is the weather like in spring?

Uneori, primăvara, vremea este frumoasă şi este cald. Alteori vremea este
rea: vântul bate şi cad ploi torenţiale.
Sometimes in spring the weather is fine and it’s warm. Other times the
weather is bad: the wind blows and there are showers.

Cum este vremea vara?

What is the weather like in summer?

Vara, aerul este fierbinte şi uscat. Temperatura poate urca până la 40 de

grade Celsius la umbră.
In summer the air is hot and dry. The temperature can rise up to 40(forty)
degrees Celsius in the shade.

Cum este vremea toamna?

What is the weather like in autumn?

Toamna, vremea este capricioasă. Uneori vremea este rea: este ceţoasă,
bate vântul şi plouă mult. Alteori vremea este frumoasă. Este răcoare, cerul
este senin şi este cald.
In autumn the weather is capricious. Sometimes the weather is bad: it’s
foggy, it’s windy and it’s raining a lot. Other times the weather is fine. It’s
cool, the sky is clear and it’s warm.
Şi pentru că a venit vorba despre vreme, vă amintesc exerciţiile de dicţie pe
care profesorul Higgins i le propune tinerei florărese Eliza Doolittle în filmul
“My Fair Lady”, ecranizarea piesei lui George Bernard Shaw “Pygmalion”:

“The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain”.

“În Spania, ploaia apare mai ales la şes“.

“In Hartford, Hereford, and Hampshire, hurricanes hardly happen.”

“În Hartford, Hereford şi Hampshire, uraganele se produc arareori.”

În limba engleză, ca şi în limba română, există o mulţime de expresii legate

de vreme. Iată două pe care îţi propun să le înveţi, chiar dacă eşti la
început:

It’s raining cats and dogs = plouă cu găleata

Come rain or come shine! Tradus cuvânt cu cuvânt, ar însemna: “Fie

ploaie, fie soare”, dar expresia echivalentă în limba română este “Fie ce-o
fi!”
