Notes: Centres that require a visiting examiner for unit 6FR01 option B and unit 6FR03 option B must have notified Edexcel
by the date specified in the Key Dates section of this Information Manual and in the Notes section of the GCE June timetable.
Instructions on how to request a visiting examiner are available on the French subject page of the Edexcel website. A visiting
examiner is only available to centres with enough candidates for the equivalent of at least 10 tests (morning or afternoon of
examining). No exceptions can be made to this rule. Centres should note that an entry for unit 6FR01 option B and unit 6FR03
option B does not automatically entitle the centre to a visiting examiner. A request must be made via the established
procedure, by the deadline stated, for the centre to be eligible for a visiting examiner.
In accordance with Edexcel’s Safeguarding Children Policy, it is the centre’s duty to provide a responsible adult to chaperone
the visiting examiner for the duration of the oral examination. If a responsible adult is not available, the oral examination
cannot take place. Please refer to the Edexcel website for access to the full Safeguarding Children Policy.
Teachers conducting the oral tests must be fully conversant with the current issue of the Edexcel GCE Oral Handbook of
Instructions for Centres.

Note: Unit 6HI01 Options E and F are identical, except that Option F includes an additional topic (F7 From Second Reich to
Third Reich: Germany 1918-45). Centres wishing to offer topic F7 should enter their candidates for Option F. Unit 6HI01
Option F is a prohibited combination with A2 Unit 6HI03 Option D1 From Kaiser to Fuhrer: Germany 1900-45 (June only
examination). Centres wishing to enter candidates for A2 Unit 6HI03 Option D1 in the June examination series may not
therefore enter candidates for AS Unit 6HI01 Option F, however they may enter candidates for AS Unit 6HI01 Option E.

cash-ins as before – new and legacy Decision Mathematics units can be mixed in a single cash-in. All Decision Mathematics
units are examined on the new content introduced in January 2009. All other units remain unchanged.
