Introduction

During one of my units called: How we Express ourselves, I was assigned an assignment where I had to research on 3 religions, then pick 2 to write a report on. I chose Greek Mythology, and Ancient Egyptian. This is my report. I Hope you enjoy!

RELIGION 1:

GREEK MYTHOLOGY
Greek Mythology is an ancient belief that was founded thousands of years ago, by the greeks. Greek mythology holds lots of myths and legends belonging to the Ancient Greeks. These legends Contain famous stories about their gods. These stories are still passed around today. They believe that there are many gods, and that they live in a place called mount Olympus. They also believe that Zeus is the King of All gods. The Greeks honor their gods by holding festivals and games. They worship their gods because they think that if you dont respect them, you go to hell. Here are some of the gods: 1. Zeus. This god was the god of the sky, and he was also known as the KING of gods. People worship him, because he was MAIN god out of all of them. 2. Poseidon. He was the god of the ocean, and he was also Zeuss first BROTHER. Sailors prayed to him, to make sure their boat doesnt sink. 3. Hades. This person was the god of the underworld, and he was ALSO Zeuss SECOND BROTHER!

4. Ares. God of War, violence, and pain. Lets just say that he wasnt
exactly the friendliest god.

5. Cronos. God of time. Did you Know that He was actually the
FATHER of Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades?

6. And, Uranus. God of Heaven. Hes kind of mean. He banished his children to underworld, because they did not please him.

AND, THERE ARE LOTS MORE!!! This list of gods could go on forever, but I couldnt fit all of the gods on this page.

RELIGION 2: ANCIENT EGYPTIAN

Ancient Egypt was an ancient civilization of North-Eastern Africa, concentrated along the Nile River. Nowadays, this is what we call: Egypt. An estimated 76.4 million Egyptians live around the world, but Egypt is the main place for an average Egyptian to stay. An estimated amount of about 94% of egyptians actually live in Egypt. Thats alot of egyptians! The Ancient Egyptians storngly belived in afterlife. They belived that if you worshiped god, you would go to heaven. If you were bad, you would go to the underworld. Did you know that the egyptian religion is one of the religions to have the most gods? The ancient egyptian religion has over 2,000 gods! That dosnt seem like much, but for a religion, thats alot! Here are some of their gods: Ra is the god of the sun. Anubis is god of the dead. Bast is the cat goddess. Sekhmet is the goddess of fire and war. Nut is the goddess of sky and stars. Geb is the god of the earth.

Horus is the god of pharohs. Orisis is the god of the afterlife. Isis is the goddess of magic and healing. Seth is the god of deserts and chaos. Thoth is the scribe god and the god of wisdom. And Those a just a few of how mant gods they have!

CONCLUSION
Well, after I did this report, I swore I knew much more about religions than I did before. I also realise that these 2 religions arent actually that different. They both have religious people who respect them, they both have gods, and they both pass around lots of myths and legends, that probably happened thousands of years ago. Both of them are actually quite cool, too. And actually Some of the GODS are quite similar. Such as: Ares: and Sekhmet. They are both gods of war. Anubis and Hades. They are both gods of war. And, Uranus and Orisis are both gods of heaven and afterlife.
