Files saved in the directory (or its sub directory) listed below are not supported for printing.
Hidden or System folder RECYCLED folder PREVIEW folder (stores thumbnails in CASIO DSCs) SCENE folder (stores data for best-shot function in CASIO DSCs) MSSONY folder (stores e-mail images, voices, movies, or uncompressed images in SONY DSCs) DCIM\ALBUM\IMAGE folder (stores data for album function in CASIO DSCs)
Note that the acquired date and time of each photo data file is not necessarily the exact date of shooting the photo. The date and time data can be updated after shooting by digital camera's calendar setting, post-processing or restoring of the photo data. If the data has been updated, the printer acquires the updated date and time information.
DATE RANGE
The printer can handle the following range of date. If photo data files have date and time information outside the range, the printer cannot sort files correctly. 1 January 1980 00:00:00 to 31 December 2099 23:59:59
FILE SORT
The printer sorts all the photo data files in a memory card using their full pathnames (such as \DCIM\100EPSON\EPSN0000.JPG) and assigns numbers to them. Because the number assignment rule is specific to the printer, the numbers assigned by the printer do not necessarily match the numbers assigned by a camera.

Each medium can be rewritten only a limited number of times as described below. MO: max. 512 times (001 to 512) If any files other than backup folders exist in the route directory, the max. number of writing becomes less than 512 due to the MS-DOS restriction. When more than 512 times of writing history of an inserted MO is detected, the printer handles it as insufficient memory of the MO. CD-R The number of writing is limited because each session information must be saved. DVD-R 4.7GB: max. 274 times The number of writing is limited as shown above because each session information must be saved
A memory card that has 8-level or more hierarchy of directories cannot be backed up to both a CD-R and DVD-R.

CR Measurement Sequence To set the appropriate drive current value according to the variation of the CR mechanical load, the mechanical load is measured in a CR measurement sequence and saved into the EEPROM at the power-on sequence or IC change sequence. A fatal error will occur if too much load is applied to the CR drive system. The above control and sequences correct the drive current value of the CR motor according to not only the mechanical load but also the variations of the motor and like. In addition, the resultant CR drive current value is used to calculate a heating value, and when the specified heating value is reached, wait time is provided per CR path for printing.
CR Scale
Heat Control (Duty limitation) In order to prevent the CR motor from overheating due to the excessive load on the carriage, the temperature of the motor is estimated based on the heating value at regular intervals regardless of the carriage operation. If the estimated temperature exceeds the prescribed value, the motor is put into short suspend mode immediately after the carriage stops. CR Variation Measurement Sequence Electric values of the CR motor are measured and corrected if the values fall outside the prescribed range. This minimizes motor-to-motor electrical variations and improves operating accuracy of the motor.

3*. When the printer judges that the carriage is in its home position, the carriage is moved leftward in order to check that the carriage is unlocked. If the printer determines that the carriage is not in its home position, the carriage is moved rightward a specified number of steps again, the Print head is covered with the cap, and a retry of the carriage home detection is carried out. 4. After detecting the unlock status of the carriage, the carriage is moved rightward. When prescribed conditions are met during the rightward movement of the carriage, the carriage is stopped and the stop position is determined as the home position. Once the home position is set, the carriage position is always monitored to control the CR motor.
5.
NOTE *: When any one of the following statuses is detected, the printer causes a fatal error (home seek error). There is an obstruction on the carriage path. The carriage lock is not released. The carriage home detection has failed for the second time in a row.

OPENING THE CHOKE VALVE 1. When the PF motor rotates counterclockwise with the Choke Valve closed, the drive force is transmitted to the cam via the combination gear and the intermittent gear of the Choke Assy. The cam presses down the Lock Lever and the Valve Supply Lever is unlocked. Further rotation of the PF motor makes the cam separate from the Valve Supply Lever bringing the Magnet Supply Holder near the Duct Valve Supply Assy. As the Magnet Supply Holder approaches the Duct Valve Supply Assy, the Choke Valve is attracted by the Magnet Supply Holder and the ink drain path is opened. When the cam makes one turn by the rotation of the PF motor, the Lock Lever is moved upward and the Valve Supply Lever is locked. At the same time, the PF motor drive force is shut down by the intermittent gear, and the Choke Valve is kept opened.

Housing Use a clean soft cloth moistened with water and wipe off any dirt. If the Housings are stained with ink, use a cloth moistened with neutral detergent to wipe it off. Inside the printer Use a vacuum cleaner to remove any paper dust.
6.1 Overview
This section provides information to maintain the printer in its optimum condition.
6.1.1 Cleaning
This printer has no mechanical components which require regular cleaning. Cleanings described here should be performed as needs arise.
C A U T IO N
Never use chemical solvents, such as thinner, benzine, and acetone, to clean the exterior parts of the printer like the housing. These chemicals may degrade or deteriorate the quality of this product. Be careful not to damage any components when you clean inside the printer. Do not scratch the surface of the PF Roller assembly. Use a soft brush to wipe off dust. Use a soft cloth moistened with dilute alcohol to remove ink stain. When using compressed air products; such as air duster, for cleaning during repair and maintenance, the use of such products containing flammable gas is prohibited.

Waste ink source: *1: Counts amount of ink ejected from the pump. *2: Counts amount of ink wiped off from the nozzle surface by wiping operation and transported to the Ink System. *3: Counts amount of ink printed on the Front Paper Guide Absorber by border less printing.
Timing for Replacing the Regular Replacement Parts When the Maintenance Counter B/C/D reach the limits shown in the above table, it causes a Maintenance Request error and disables all button operations except for the Power button. The Maintenance Counter values can be checked using the adjustment program. Always check the B, C, D counters whenever you repair the printer. If any one of the counter values is close to its limit or if the counter values cannot be read from the EEPROM due to Main Board failure, replace the Ink System, Waste Ink Pads and Duct Joint Supply Assy. with new ones. This prevents the customer from sending back his/her printer for service in the near future due to a Maintenance Request error. Replacement Procedure Ink System Refer to 4.2.4.12 "Ink System" (p.99).
