GENERIC FAULT & PROBLEM RESOLUTION TABLE:


Initial Action
Switch off the machine, and then switch on the machine. If the problem remains , check the following:
a. The power lead is connected to the wall outlet and to the machine. b. The documents are not loaded in the DADH or on the document glass. c. The paper is loaded correctly.

d. All paper trays are closed. e. All covers are closed or installed. f. If a telephone line cable is installed, make sure that the cable is connected between the line socket and the wall jack.

g. If a telephone line cable is installed, make sure that the customer telephone line is functioning.

Fault / Description:

Corrective Action: 1. Follow instructions on UI. 2. WHEN APPLICABLE: Check docking between Optional Paper Feeder
and machine.

Paper Feed Jams

3. WHEN APPLICABLE: Inspect gap between Optional Paper Feeder and


machine. (See wordless instructions.)

Finisher jamming Finisher not stapling

4. Check paper is loaded correctly in paper tray. 5. Check size guides are set properly. 6. Turn paper over and fan the stack. 1. Check gap between copier and finisher, Adjust as required. 2. Check for residual packing material. 1. Ensure shipping bracket was removed. 2. Ensure stapler is properly oriented. 1. Power down Machine. 2. Disconnect finisher cable from IOT. 3. Reconnect finisher IOT. 4. Power on Machine. 1. Power down Machine 2. Disconnect interface cable(s) from machine. 3. Check connectors & reconnect interface cable(s) 4. Power on Machine.

Check and verify that the Horizontal Transport plug connector is plugged into the appropriate jack connector on the rear of the finisher. If not, power off the mc and plug in the connector then power on the mc. Ensure that you didnt remove / install an Exit 2 Assembly. Wrong Exit 2 Assembly Installed That the Exit 2 assembly that came already installed in the IOT remains. 1. Open the main frame front door and ensure that the IBT Belt Latch handle is rotated down fully engaged. 2. Also check and make sure the mechanical interlock IBT Belt Home Fault located on the front door opposite the IBT Belt latch handle, is positioned correct as to not interfere w/ the IBT Belt latch handle. Check / re-install the input chute of the horizontal transport. Open the LX Finisher front door and check that the paper guide / chute is installed. In the future, ensure that tray is installed on finisher before machine is powered on. Ensure the finisher harness is securely connected. Ensure that scanner cable is plugged into the upper port. Power the machine off. Hold the Energy saver, the number 4 key and the Stop key. While holding the 3 buttons, power the machine back on. Continue to hold the buttons until the XEROX screen appears. Power the machine off. Hold the Energy saver, the number 4 key and the Stop key. While holding the 3 buttons, power the machine back on. Continue to hold the buttons until the XEROX screen appears. Power the machine off. Hold the Energy saver, the number 4 key and the Stop key. While holding the 3 buttons, power the machine back on. Continue to hold the buttons until the XEROX screen appears.
