ISO launches ISO 50001 energy management standard

ith energy one of the most critical challenges facing the international community, the publication on 15 June of the ISO International Standard ISO 50001 on energy management systems is an eagerly awaited event because it is estimated the standard could have a positive impact on some 60 % of the worlds energy use.
such as global warming. ISO 50001 is intended to provide organizations with a recognized framework for integrating energy performance into their management practices. Multinational organizations will have access to a single, harmonized standard for implementation across the organization with a logical and consistent methodology for identifying and implementing improvements. The standard is intended to accomplish the following: Assist organizations in making better use of their existing energy-consuming assets Create transparency and facilitate communication on the management of energy resources Promote energy management best practices and reinforce good energy management behaviours Assist facilities in evaluating and prioritizing the implementation of new energy-efficient technologies Provide a framework for promoting energy efficiency throughout the supply chain Facilitate energy management improvements for greenhouse gas emission reduction projects Allow integration with other organizational management systems such as environmental, and health and safety. Mrs. Sonia Rosas Friot Assistant, Marketing Services Marketing, Communication and Information Tel. +41 22 749 03 36 Fax +41 22 749 09 47 E-mail sales@iso.org

ISO 50001 will provide public and private sector organizations with management strategies to increase energy efficiency, reduce costs and improve energy performance. The standard will be available on the ISO Website www.iso.org on 15 June. In addition, ISO is launching the standard on 17 June at the Geneva International Conference Centre (CICG). Presentations on the following themes are planned: ISO 50001 within the context of ISO standards in general and how they can contribute to solving global problems A description of ISO 50001 and its benefits How the standard was developed, who was involved and how they overcame challenges What ISO 50001 can do for developing countries. ISO Secretary-General Rob Steele comments: Energy is critical to organizational operations and can be a major cost to organizations, whatever their activities. An idea can be gained by considering the use of energy through the supply chain of a business, from raw materials through to recycling. Individual organizations cannot control energy prices, government policies or the global economy, but they can improve the way they manage energy in the here and now. Improved energy performance can provide rapid benefits for an organization by maximizing the use of its energy sources and energy-related assets, thus reducing both energy cost and consumption. The organization will also make positive contributions toward reducing depletion of energy resources and mitigating worldwide effects of energy use,

ISO and the talent development business

SO has just published a catalogue, Developing talent, describing some 30 technical assistance and training programmes it offers to national standards bodies that are members of the organization. Both developed and developing country members of ISO need to keep up to speed with of the evolution of international standardization. This is not only valid for the staff of national standards bodies, but also for their experts (internal and external) and stakeholders who contribute to the development of standards, or who use and implement them. The 160+ ISO members have different needs and expectations due to various factors such as institutional and legal frameworks, the size of the organization and its place in the national economy, the resources at disposal, buy-in from stakeholders, level of involvement in ISO technical work, etc. Developing country members, who represent three-quarters of the ISO membership, constitute a special group with more specific support needs. ISO has therefore developed technical assistance and training packages tailored to the variety of needs of its members. Developing talent describes these various packages and to whom they are addressed. ISO Secretary-General Rob Steele comments: The technical assistance and training provided by ISO is absolutely critical for keeping the ISO system primed and operating to the maximum efficiency. We owe this not only to our members, but also to the international community who expects us to provide quick, credible and consensus-based solutions to an increasingly complex world. ISO members from developing countries benefit mostly from technical assistance activities

delivered by ISO in the context of the implementation of The ISO Action Plan for developing countries 2011-2015 thanks to financial support provided by donors and other ISO members. In accordance with the objectives laid down in the Action Plan, awareness-raising and capacity-building as well as support to participate in the technical work of ISO are the most important outputs. ISO members from both developed and developing countries, who have the resources and who participate fully in the technical work of ISO, make the most of the various training courses that are provided in order to operate efficiently and effectively, using the most relevant information technology (IT) tools and eServices. This ensures timely release of muchneeded ISO deliverables. Developing talent Catalogue of ISOs technical assistance and training programmes for ISO members, published in English and French, is available free of charge from the ISO Central Secretariat through the ISO Store http://www.iso.org/iso/publications_and_eproducts/about_iso.htm#PUB100280 or by contacting the Marketing, Communication & Information department (see right-hand column). It can also be obtained from ISO national member institutes http://www.iso.org/iso/about/iso_members.htm with contact details). The brochure can also be downloaded as a PDF file free of charge from the ISO Website. Updates of this catalogue will be posted as and when necessary on ISO Online at www.iso.org/iso/education_and_training

The Diagnostic Tool Of Choice For Sinusitis

Finland and ENTlab have been at the cutting edge of developing and using sinus ultrasound. Physicians and nurses can diagnose sinusitis very effectively with the help of ENTlabs Ultramax units and eliminate a large proportion of unnecessary antibiotic treatment.
ENTlabs Ultramax units can make the use of X-ray examinations to detect sinusitis largely redundant.

Ultrasound is increasingly replacing radiography in the diagnosis of sinusitis and for good reason. clinical examination is also less than reliable in diagnosing acute maxillary sinusitis; studies indicate that only half of patients clinically diagnosed with maxillary sinusitis have actually been found to have fluid in their sinuses following an ultrasound examination. This means that the number of antibiotic prescriptions written for patients in primary care in this category could be reduced by half, in theory at least saving both money and helping reduce the unnecessary use of antibiotics, which is seeing a growing number of antibioticresistant bacteria emerge. Ultrasound offers a fast, reliable, and radiationfree method for diagnosing sinusitis, and has been used successfully in Finland for around 20 years. More than 50% of diagnoses are based on ultrasound today, only one third on clinical examinations, and the remainder on X-ray examinations. Easy to use and accurate A specialist in developing, manufacturing, and marketing medical technology devices for diagnosing ear, nose, and throat diseases, ENTlab entered the ultrasound field early on. Its latest product, the Ultramax SinusUltra, is a handheld, cordless sinus ultrasound device designed to produce safe, reliable, and highly accurate results when used by primary care doctors and nurses. Featuring a bright organic lightemitting diode (Oled) display, the SinusUltra can detect fluid, air, and even a cyst in the sinus, and send the result to a PC wirelessly. doctors can then write up their

diagnoses and comments, including test data, save them, and print them out for the patient. The bright Oled display makes reading off the result easy, whatever the ambient light conditions. FlUID or AIR is displayed, depending on what is revealed by the ultrasonic beam. This beam is reflected from the posterior wall of the sinus when the sinus contains fluid (pus), and from the anterior wall when the sinus contains air. ETTlab also offers the Ultramax A3 as a fast, inexpensive, safe, and efficient ultrasound device for detecting sinusitis. Featuring an LED display, functional design, and compact size, this also delivers excellent accuracy. EU guidelines recommend avoiding the use of Xray examinations on a routine basis for diagnosing conditions such as sinusitis wherever possible, particularly in the case of children under five primarily to avoid exposing patients to unnecessary radiation. Studies have shown that ultrasound offers a sensitivity of 92% and a specificity of 95%, compared to radiography, in diagnosing sinusitis. With practice and training, primary care physicians can perform sinus ultrasound examinations as accurately as specialists. All of which is making ultrasound the diagnostic tool of choice for more and more physicians in detecting sinusitis. ENTlab Ltd. P.O. More sustainable heating and cooling

Reducing emissions and incorporating higher levels of intelligent automation are important priorities for Oilon and the companys extensive research on emission control issues has resulted in a broad range of eco-friendly products.
Combustion in Oilons Ultra LowNOx natural gas burners can be controlled very efficiently using an Oilon Burner Management System (BMS).

ilons expertise in environmental and energy technology has seen the company establish a significant position for itself on numerous markets worldwide over its 50-year history. Today, Oilon manufactures and supplies burners for district heating plants, ships, power plants, hazardous waste incineration plants, and industrial processes, as well as heat pumps and solar heat collectors for heating applications. Oilons Geopro RE ground source heat pumps, introduced in 2009, for example, have been designed as reliable, lowmaintenance, high CO P-value units for offices, commercial properties, and apartment buildings. Featuring many components used in Oilons other proven Geopro designs, they now offer cooling as well as heating, enabling them to provide both domestic hot water and air duct-based cooling. Stepless heat capacity adjustment enables units to react rapidly to changes in demand. Thanks to a comprehensive automation package, units can be combined with other energy sources, such as solar collectors and oil/bio-oil or pellet-fired units, to create a hybrid system Ultra Low-NOx natural gas burners Oilon has always prioritised high efficiency, reliable operations, high-performance combustion, and low emissions in its burners. In response to the trend towards everlower emissions, the company has recently launched a new power plant and process burner capable of meeting the most stringent NOx emission limits envisaged in upcoming legislation such as the EUs industrial emissions directive. The advanced design is the outcome of both laboratory and full-scale testing, complemented with CFD computer simulation. Thanks to staged combustion, fuel and air flows within the burner create optimal air envelopes inside and around the flame, resulting in low NOx emissions and a compact flame geometry. Inner flue gas recirculation guarantees very low emissions. The burner also offers low levels of ambient noise.

Up to 16 GeoPro HE heat pumps can be connected in parallel to provide more than 1.3 MW of heating energy.

Launch of CIPE-ICC WCF governance principles

Chamber of Commerce, and the ICC World Chambers Federation (WCF) jointly launched new Governance Principles for Business Associations and Chambers of Commerce this week during the 7th World Chambers Congress in Mexico City.
These principles are designed to facilitate good governance, evaluation, and reform within business associations and chambers

he Center of International Private Enterprise (CIPE), an affiliate of the US

CIPE and WCF have been working closely over the past several months to develop a set of governance principles that would serve as a reference point for chambers and associations globally. With the input of more than 60 WCF chamber members from across the world, the principles are truly global in scope and application. Contributions were received, from economies as diverse as Uruguay, Australia, Lebanon, Turkey, Cyprus, Canada, South Africa, Sweden, Israel, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Ghana, India, Jordan, and the United Kingdom. From our work around the world we know that good governance is the foundation upon which successful chambers and associations are built, said John D. Sullivan, CIPE Executive Director. We are especially excited about our partnership with WCF on this initiative and are looking forward to future joint work to ensure that these principles inspire a broad movement towards better governance in chambers and associations globally. Inspired by Corporate Governance Principles issued by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) for companies, these principles are designed to facilitate good

governance, evaluation, and reform within business associations and chambers, whether they be public law/private law, local, regional, or national. These principles provide a starting platform for developing and strengthening specific mechanisms related to good governance. I hope that the ongoing partnership between WCF and CIPE will continue to lead to new efforts and programs that strengthen the chamber movement globally. We believe that a serious commitment to good governance outlined in these principles will help position chambers and associations as leaders in economic reform and job creation, said Rona Yircali, WCF Chair. To obtain a copy of the principles please click here or visit www.cipe.org To view other ICC publications please visit theICC Bookstore http://www.iccbooks.com/Home/Home.aspx

Launch of ICC-WIPO handbook for providing IP services

he International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) have launched the publication, Making intellectual property work for business today during the 7th World Chambers Congress in Mexico City. Developed jointly by the two organizations, the handbook provides practical guidance to chambers of commerce and business associations looking to provide intellectual property (IP) services for businesses.

The ICC-WIPO handbook gives practical advice on how to set up different types of IP services

Although intellectual property has become an essential competitive tool for businesses in todays economy, many companies do not understand how to use IP in their business. Businesses membership organizations are uniquely positioned to help bridge this knowledge gap. Businesses nowadays have to rely on the effective use of one or more types of intellectual property to gain and maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace, said David Koris, Chair of the ICC Commission on Intellectual Property. Business leaders and managers, therefore require a much better understanding of the tools of the IP system to protect and exploit the IP assets they own, or wish to use, for their business models and competitive strategies in domestic and international markets. ICC Chief IP Officer Daphne Yong-dHerv said: Because of the strong relationship with their business constituencies, business membership organizations are ideally placed to help companies navigate this emerging field and to play an active role in helping companies understand and use IP assets as a competitive tool. Available in English and Spanish, the ICC-WIPO handbook gives practical advice on how to set up different types of IP services, such as training, awareness-raising, consultancy, policy advocacy and stimulating innovation. It features 30 case studies representing real-life experience of business

associations and chambers of commerce around the world, providing useful examples and illustrating good practices. An increasing number of chambers of commerce are beginning to appreciate the value of intellectual property to businesses and are providing IP services to their constituencies. This handbook will greatly help chambers stepping forward into this field, added Anthony Parkes, Director of the ICC World Chambers Federation, which organizes the World Chambers Congress every two years, and contributed the chamber perspective to the handbook. The ICC-WIPO handbook is part of a suite of tools that ICC is developing to support the provision of business-oriented IP services to help companies boost their competitiveness. ICCs long-standing work in the area of IP is spearheaded by the ICC Commission on Intellectual Property. To obtain a copy of Making intellectual property work for business: A handbook for chambers of commerce and business associations setting up intellectual property services, through: http://www.iccbooks.com/Home/Home.aspx For further information, please contact : Daphne Yong-dHerv Chief Intellectual Property Officer Tel: +33 (0)1 49 53 28 24

COUNTRY REPORT ITALY

Giorgio Starace Ambassador of Italy It is my pleasure to present the new country report on Italy for the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The UAE became a strategic partner for Italy and it now represents our largest Middle East and North Africa trade destination, with an exchange of around 4,5 billion dollars in 2010. In 2008 and 2009 the world economy has been tried out by the international crisis, so we are currently working hard with our Emirati friends in order to shape the 2010-2011 recovery of economic partnership. In November 2010, the so-called Missione di Sistema, Italian most relevant business and institutional delegation, consisting of two Ministers and more than 300 business people, visited the UAE for the first time. The Italian business sector also showed a strong interest in the main relevant initiatives launched in the UAE in the past months (i.e. Big Five, World Future Energy Summit, Idex etc.). Moreover, a deep political relationship developed through an increasing cooperation and diplomacy at its highest level. Now, we are glad to welcome our UAE friends to our Country! In Italy, June is going to be a month focused on UAE events, from the opening of the Biennale di Venezia UAE Pavilion, to the first Dubai-Rome Airbus380 flight on 6th of June, as celebration of the 50th Rome Airport anniversary. On 10th of June, the Joint Economic Committee meeting is going to be held in Verona at the presence of the UAE Minister of Economy, H.E. Sultan al Mansoori. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.H. Sheikh Abdallah, is also going to visit Italy and on the 11th the Dubai Royal Family attendance is expected to the Endurance competition on Garda Lake. With regard to import-export sector, jewellery and luxury are the main products that Italy trades with the UAE, along with general equipments, other special machineries, clothing, furniture, aircrafts, engines as well as generators and transformers. Oil-refining products along with plastic and metal products are among the main goods exported to Italy from the UAE. The Abu Dhabi market is growing and there are many projects we are interested to be involved in, especially in the defence, energy and naval sector. Moreover, in order to expand trade relations between the two Countries, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the SME sector is going to be signed during the next JEC meeting in Verona. The MoU would also promote training of young UAE students in Italy and vice versa. The Italian business community in the UAE is increasing and now outnumbers 4500 permanent residents. The tourism sector between the two countries is developing, more Italians are visiting the UAE, but there is still room for growth. We wish that a direct flight connection between Rome and Abu Dhabi will additionally boost this positive trend. At the moment we have mainly UAE business visitors, but Italy also represents a great destination for leisure tourism and we would like to see more UAE tourists enjoying our landscape, lifestyle and food! During the XVII Centuries Italy was fragmented into various kingdoms and citystates and it was dominated directly or indirectly by the Spanish, the French and the Austrian. On the 17th March of 1861 the Regno dItalia was declared and the Peninsula regional states, along with Sardinia and Sicily, were united under King Victor Emmanuel II. The monarchy was replaced after the Second World War on the 2nd June 1946 when a Parliamentary Republic was established through a referendum. Italy is one of the six countries which signed the 1951 Paris Treaty setting Europe off on the path to integration.

ITALY

During the last two years Italian economy has been tried out by international financial crisis. But, following a path similar to that of the other euroarea countries, it began to pull out of recession and returned to growth. After contracting by more than 6 per cent in the two years 2008 and 2009, GDP grew by 0.5 per cent in the first half of 2010 compared with the year-earlier period and is forecast to expand by about 1 per cent for the entire year. The speed of the recovery is in line with the euro-area average even though still far below the pace that it would be needed for economic activity rapidly regain the pre-crisis level. The budget deficit is expected to be reduced from 5.4% of GDP in 2009 to 2.7% in 2012 and 2.2% in 2013 thanks to strict measures adopted by the government. The inflation, after accelerating to an average of 2% in the final quarter of 2010 and JanuaryFebruary 2011, is expected to rise further in 2011, mainly owing to higher commodity prices. However, towards year-end, it will start to ease, reflecting a more favourable baseline and weaker aggregate demand. This trend should continue in 2012, so that from an annual average of 2.4% in 2011, inflation is forecast to ease to 2.2% next year and to an average of 2% in 2013-15. Fixed investment made a partial recovery in 2010 as a result of a moderate improvement in business confidence after the crisis and a pick-up in external demand. However, growth will be subdued, as companies will remain cautious about increasing investments. Domestic and foreign demand growth is expected to slow in 2011-12 and capacity utilization, at around 72% at the beginning of 2011, remained below pre-crisis rates of 75-80%. The growth prospective of many Italian SMEs is only under conditions of banks openness toward new capital investments, since they have the

structural potential and a state-of-the-art technological know-how to compete in the international market. AGRICULTURE Italy's agriculture is typical of the division between the agricultures of the northern and southern countries of the European Union. The northern part of Italy produces primarily grains, sugar beets, soybeans, meat, and dairy products, while the south specializes in fruits, vegetables, olive oil, wine, and durum wheat. Even though much of its mountainous terrain is unsuitable for farming, Italy has a large work force (1.4 million) employed in farming.(US Department) Most farms are small, with the average size being only seven hectares. Italy is the biggest European producer of rice, fruits and vegetables, and also the world's biggest producer and exporter of wine. The country is one of the major agricultural powers in the European Union. (FITA) INDUSTRY Italy's fabrics industry is made up mostly of small and medium family businesses. In this context, the country is suffering from a decline in global competitiveness even though the emerging enterprises displayed a capacity for scaling-up their productiveness through technological renewal and developing strategies for international expansion. So, they did reveal an ability to react, indicative of a possible way out for the Italian economy from a phase of slowdown in growth. Italian exports world market share is a clear sign of this economic upturn. The luxury goods manufacture (haute couture, cars, delicatessen foods) represents a significant part of the Italian industry, although many companies deal also with precision machinery, chemical and pharmaceutical products, electrical items, fashion and clothing.

As regard with media broadcast, the two Italian media giants are the publicly-owned Radiotelevisione Italiana (RAI) with 3 national terrestrial stations and privately-owned Mediaset with 3 national terrestrial stations; further there is a large number of private stations and Sky Italia a satellite TV network; RAI operates 3 AM/FM nationwide radio stations; the commercial radio stations are about 1,300 (2007). TRANSPORTS The Italian transport network includes 132 airports, 156 ports, a railways network of 19,729 Km and a roadways one of 487,700 km. Main airports North: Milano Malpensa (MPX) Center: Roma Fiumicino (FCO) South: Napoli Capodichino (NAP) Main Flight Companies: Alitalia, Air One, Meridiana, Wind Jet The main ports and terminals are: Genoa, Trieste, Taranto, Cagliari, Livorno, Gioia Tauro, Augusta, Venice Trenitalia SpA is the Ferrovie dello Stato (FS) Company, which coordinates the passenger national rail transport. Last year has been followed out the Alta Velocita (High Speed) network which runs from Turin to Salerno for near 1000 Km. It crosses 17 provinces, and 161 municipalities, an area where the 65% of the population works and lives. In ten months more than 10 million passengers (with an increase of market share from 32% to 50% on the RomeMilan route) have been transported by the Italian AV network, awarded in London with the World Travel Market prize. TOURISM BUSINESS Art, Cities and historical monuments Italy has a long recorded history that the biggest problem facing the traveler is to choose among the nation's endless cultural attractions: you can walk around very typical historical centers such as those of Rome, Naples, Florence and Venice, you can also visit the towns of Tuscany and Umbria. The Reggia di Caserta (Palace of Caserta), the Villa d'Este, Villa Adriana, Pompei ruins and the Etruscans Necropolises are also very famous. All main centres, most of the provincial cities and many quite small towns have museums. Ancient monuments and archeological sites are perfectly preserved; the museums are bursting with the genious of Italy's finest sons: Raffaello, Michelangelo, Tiziano, Canova; contemporary architects are still inspired by ancient buildings and squares (piazze). Italian cities are veritable living museums. The Blue Flag In Italy 225 beaches and 60 Marinas have been awarded with a Blue Flag in 2010. This award is given to the beaches that offer cleanliness and safe bathing areas and through strict criteria dealing with water quality, environmental education and information, environmental management and safety and other important services. The Blue Flag is a voluntary eco-label awarded to over 3450 beaches and marinas in 41 countries across Europe, South Africa, Morocco, Tunisia, New Zealand, Brazil, Canada and the Caribbean. www.blueflag.org Thermal waters in Italy In this field Italy has taken up and developed a practice which has been widespread through-out the peninsula since the time of the Romans, when thermal waters and baths were already a typical feature of town life. Interest in the Italian spas is not exclusively for health care reasons. Their proximity to great art cities makes the spa resorts excellent bases for cultural excursions. In addition the wonderful parks surrounding the most famous spas, and the infrastructure which has been created for leisure activities, make them ideal holiday resorts. The biggest and best equipped spa and therapeutic resorts are Abano Terme and Montegrotto Terme (Veneto), Acqui Terme

Outdoor Activities In Italy golf is quite popular. Other available outdoor activities are climbing, sailing and trekking. Shopping Many Italian products are recognized all over the world for their class and high quality; some are made by craftsmen, at attractive prices. Florence, Milan and Rome are the fashion centers. Some places are known for their products: Como (Lombardy) for silk, Prato (Tuscany) for textiles, Empoli (Tuscany) for the production of bottles and glasses in green glass, Deruta (Umbria) and Faenza (Emilia-Romagna) for pottery, Carrara (Tuscany) for marble, Torre Annunziata (Campania) and Alghero (Sardinia) for coral crafts, Cremona (Lombardy) for violins, Castelfidardo (Marche) for accordeons, guitars and organs, Valenza (Piedmont) for goldsmiths, Vietri sul Mare (Campania) for ceramic tiles and Ravenna (EmiliaRomagna) for mosaics. BUSINESS TOURISM: TRADE FAIRS AND EXHIBITIONS The national trade fair industry reflects the industrial productive structure and the basis for development of its international greatness may be found in sector specialisation and centre specificity. Over the years, the Italian trade fair sector has been involved in relevant changes: expansion projects, legal transformation of trade fair entities into PLCs, and decentralisation of competencies pertaining to regional trade fairs and exhibitions. Every year millions of people are involved moving at the events rhythm. Italys best-kwon exhibition spaces and events are: MILANO: Fashion Week, Salone Internazionale del Mobile (design), BIT (tourism), Smau (ICT) GENOVA: Boat Show TORINO: International Book Fair, Salone dellAutomobile (motors) VENEZIA: Festival del Cinema, Biennale dArte, Biennale dArchitettura

BOLOGNA: Motorshow ROME: Compa (Communication & Public Administration), various events linked to the cultural sector NAPOLI: Mostra dOltre Mare Exhibition Center BARI: Fiera del Levante (Business Centre, Agrimend, Motus, Edil Levante Abitare, Salone dell'Arredamento e Med Fishing Expo) THE DESIGN INDUSTRY: VALUE ADDED FOR ITALY'S ECONOMIC GROWTH Added value of over 140 billion euros and employment for around 3.3 million people: this is the snapshot, in figures, of the engine of Italys manufacturing system, driven by the countrys leading sectors the so-called 4 Fs of the Madein-Italy industry: Ferrari cars and non-electronic machinery and equipment, fashion and clothing, food and beverage, and furniture and wood products. This latter sector, in particular, produces a very large trade surplus in real terms for Italian industry, higher, for instance, than that generated by the British pharmaceutical or French chemical industries. These figures place Italy in first ranking among the European Union countries for furniture production and second worldwide, only after China, in terms of balance of trade in the same sector. But above all, these are numbers that mark out the countrys undisputed world leadership in the sector, a position of dominance forged throughout the course of the twentieth century on the back of a wealth of creativity and a standard of workmanship widely-recognized as denoting excellence. It is in this link between creativity and practical application, between ideas and hands, that much of what is commonly referred to as the Italian genius loci resides: the unique ability to transmit to a manufactured product the power to evoke the place and culture that have generated it, the ability to infuse products in this case, designed goods with aesthetic and emotional value that goes far beyond their raw value.
