AGILE SOP TOOL (aSOPT)

What does it do?

aSOPT provides a coherent, common and repeatable methodology for capturing, modeling and communicating standard operating procedures (SOPs). It asks - What is done? Who does it? What are the Inputs and Outputs? and What Knowledge Resources are Needed? Replacing or supplementing existing flat procedure documents, aSOPT uses its connection through re-use principle to produce a dynamic web-based product incorporating activated knowledge resources. This approach adds new dimensions to the type and range of information that can be made readily available to a user community. Importantly, once data is captured, aSOPT provides the consultant using it with a highly visual means by which to evaluate, compare, measure and improve organisation and process.

How is it used and by who?

No two businesses are the same, so to get the most out of the toolset it is first customised to meet user specific requirements. This need not take long or be too detailed, particularly in the first iteration when the aim is to deliver benefits early . Typically, initial engagement sees an Agile Ideas consultant/team working closely with the client to understand their needs. Then, depending on the nature and scale of the problem, the balance between full aSOPT deployment (with associated consultant & technical support) through to consultant-led output delivery is struck in order that work can begin and benefits be realised. Some examples of aSOPT s successful use within the UK Military space: Project: Joint Force Operating Procedures (JFOP) Client: PJHQ J7, Northwood Project: Army Field Manual (AFM) Client: Land Warfare Centre, Warminster Project: Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) Client: Command & Control Battlelab (C2BL), Shrivenham
