Organizational Society Organizations experience complex interactive relationships with a social community or society. Organizations must operate at local, national and regional cultural context. Normally, social forces will not exert the same influence over all types of organization. Culture itself acts as an influencing force to all organization more or less whatever their nature and context of operation.

Definition of culture Culture refers to the collectively held values, attitudes, assumptions and behaviors of a group. Characteristics 1) Culture is shared. Share a common value, believes and attitudes. Every country has a distinct nature of culture. Culture also contains sub-culture such as social class, religion, race, nations etc. 2) Culture is dynamic and continually evolving.

Culture continues to change for that reason organizations must try to adopt the change. Hoftstede found that culture defers according to the degree of behavior exhibited by the people.

According to him there are 4 types of tendencies may be viewed in different countries. Individual or collective tendency. Large or small power distance between one another. Strong or weak uncertainty avoidance tendency. Masculine Vs Feminine dominance.

Elements of culture 1) Language. 2) Religion. 3) Social institution. 4) Educational system. 5) Legal and political systems, 6) Value and attitudes.
