Changes in AATCC Test Methods

he following changes have been made in AATCC test methods since publication of the 2010 edition of the TECHNICAL MANUAL. The copy deadline for changes in the 2011 edition was May 2010. The following test methods were editorially revised to do one or more of the following: () delete from the Safety Statement the date of the OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1000 document and put in to check the OSHA web site for the latest version; () changes made to the evaluation section of the test to indicate referral to either AATCC Evaluation Procedures 1 (Gray Scale for Color Change) and 7 (Instrumental Assessment of the Change in Color of a Test Specimen) or AATCC Evaluation Procedures 2 (Gray Scale for Staining), 8 (AATCC 9-Step Chromatic Transference Scale), or 12 (Instrumental Assessment of Degree of Staining). With this reference, the redundant grading steps have been removed. New AATCC evaluation procedure to be used as an alternative to the visual method of AATCC Evaluation Procedure 2, Gray Scale for Staining, for assessing the degree of staining on a fabric test specimen used in colorfastness tests. This procedure is applicable to any test method referring to the Gray Scale for Staining. Standardization of Home Laundry Test Conditions Monograph. Revised to add the top loading washing machine parameters to update Table II.
