On the basis of two-level structurally-phenomenological model of deformation and

failure of random-structure granular composites local instability of mechanical

behaviour, changing of mechanisms and scale levels of predominant damage
accumulation for various macrohomogeneous stress-strain states were described.
Regularities of uniaxial compression under side-pressure and damage localization,
phenomena of 'quantum' character of damage evolution and unequal resistance to
failure of granular composites were detected and investigated.
Local instability of mechanical behaviour, change of mechanisms and scale levels of
