NEWRA General Meeting 1st August 2011 Members Present Josh Wiffen, Shaun Roberts, Hilton Williams, Adam

Gardner, Neale Atkinson, Dave Fawkes, John Andrew Jones, Tom Ellis, Ashley Jones, Tomos Roberts, Tom Williams, Andy Oliver, Steve Jones, Arthur Smallman, Sam Tombs, Brian Bevan, Maria Pasco, Cliff Evans, Arthur Pritchard, Andy Anderson, John Spender, Martin Williams, Geraint Williams, Phil Roszkowksi, Chris Allen, Ian Evans, Shane Davies, Gary Collins, Hilton Williams, John Swindley and Keith Spencer. There was a total of 31 members present Apologies for Absence Neil Jones, Liam Partyn, Karl Cosworth, Chris Noble, Ray Picken, Frank Maddocks, Bryn Markham-Jones, Mike Woodward, Elwyn Thomas, Gerald Davies, Brian Roberts and Phil Coleman. The minutes of the previous meeting were proposed by Ian Evans and seconded by Phil Roszkowski that they were a true and fair record. Matters Arising None Correspondance Acceptances had been received from Vice Presidents in regards to their positions for the upcoming season. Details of upcoming charity events for Nightingale House had been sent to the association. The Welsh FA had sent through information in regards to the Kick Back scheme which was being run for the next two home internationals. Reports from Leagues and Associations NEWFA It was reported that due to Keith Spencer now having a vote from the North East Wales FA Cliff Evans has been nominated as the associations representative. Brian Roberts has resigned from the position of disciplinary officer with John Hughes having been appointed as admin officer. Those present were urged to support the upcoming North East Wales FAs seminar. Welsh National League It was reported that the AGM had been held. The only issues to report were that mileage allowance has been increased to 30p per mile. Referees were again urged to complete the team sheets correctly in the coming season to assist with the equalisation process. Cymru Alliance Arthur wished referees all the best for the coming season and informed those present that there are 5 new referees on the league this season. Sunday League

The league set up will be 3 leagues with 10 in the premier league and 11 in the other two leagues. Brynteg will not be in the league this coming season. John Spender urged referees to consider refereeing on a Sunday with the league currently struggling to get enough officials. Referees Association of Wales Nothing to report. Charity Events Update It was reported that Nightingale House has been chosen as the associations nominated charity for the coming season. The Sportsmans Evening is to be held on Friday 16th March 2012 with the guest speaker being Duncan McKenzie. Any Other Business Arthur Pritchard informed those present that the handbooks for the leagues would be sent out in the coming week. The polo shirts idea was again discussed with Martin Williams now looking in to the idea since the Deeside RA has decided to remain as its own association. Brian Bevan informed members that forms that he has received made reading the email addresses difficult. If members have not received a confirmation e-mail they were advised to send Brian an e-mail. Where members were to send caution forms was discussed. The FAW are to receive all Welsh National League, Cymru Alliance and Welsh Premier League. All other leagues are still to be sent to NEWFA. Members Scenarios There were no scenarios discussed. Following a short break Arthur Smallman gave an interesting talk on moving from being a player to a referee. He then answered a number of questions from the floor with his honesty and insight being appreciated by all those present. The meeting closed at 8.55pm
