Plants and animals have adaptations that allow them to thrive in certain habitats but not in others Organisms in a habitat are interdependent on one another Related Misconceptions: A habitat is only geography and landforms.

The same plants and animals in one area of Georgia can be found throughout the state. Any plant or animal can adapt to any environment.

Essential Questions
Overarching Questions: How are certain plants and animals able to live in one area but not another? How are the habitats different from one another? Why are habitats important? What happens to an organism if the habitat is changed? Topical Questions: What habitats can be found in Georgia and what lives there? What adaptations allow particular plants and animals to live in their habitat?
