ABSTRACT
Since last three decade, information of molecular fossil play important part in exploration activity. Organic compound analyzed of crude oil from LaweLawe, Balikpapan is application of molecular fossil in organic geochemistry that purpose to characterized the origin, paleoenviroment and thermal maturity before the exploitation done. Crude oil was separated directly by using column chromatography and resulted non polar, acid and polar fractions. The Fraction of non polar was separated by thin layer chromatography (TLC) resulted aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbon. The fractions that resulted was characterizated by gas chromatography mass spectrometer (GC-MS). The results showed the existence of n-alkane C13-C34, dominated n-alkane C22 which strenghtened by dimetil naftalen and trimetil naftalen that indicated the paleoenvironment was in land and dominated by terrestrial plan which starting found in last tertier era of Pleiocene. Comparison of pristane and fitane was 2,08 describe the condition of paleoenvironment having the character of oxidative. Hopanoid that was founded were 17(H),21(H)-norhopan, 17(H),21(H)-hopana and 17(H),21(H)homohopana which strenghtened by the founded of dimetil fenantren dan trimetil fenantren that indicated the oil had been pass diagenesis process and it was come from old sediment. The existence of n-alkanol C11- C 27, etil-n-keton C16-C20 and oktatriakonta-16-23-dien-on indicates the contribution of Emiliana spesies that found at terrestrial land.
