DNA STRUCTURE BASED ON WATSON & CRICK MODEL

DNA consists 3 components consist Phosphate Group, Pentose Sugar and nitrogenous base and double strands arranged in anti-parallel that joint at the end of strand, 5 to 3 and 3 to 5 and coiled around each other to form a double helix.

Its Contains the pentose sugar deoxyribose. DNA also contains the bases Adenine, Guanine, Thymine and Cytosine. They are Complimentary base that is A with T and C with G Its joint to another nucleotide by Phosphodiaster bond .

Phosphate Group makes the acidic properties of DNA. Found almost entirely in chromosomes within the nucleus. However a small amount is also found in mitochondria and chloroplast.

There is only one type of DNA. Its Also a much longer and bigger molecule. Its nucleotide sequence is divided into many areas called genes. Each genes in DNA is a unit of genetic information
