Practical Application

Paulo Freire based his method about teaching on: The education process must start from the reality that surrounds each individual (Paulo freire). Paulo freires thought is about that: knowledge is

not transmitted, is 'under construction' means the act of education is not a transfer of knowledge, is the joy of building a common world (Juan Manurl Fernandez Moreno, ILCE). Taking as a reference the thought of our author, we can say that, his method is based on constant change, because teaching is not a theoretical thing that never change, on the contrary, we can say that teaching is always changing and we must be updated for the new concetps that we can face, we must be aware of the changes that our students are living or facing today (with technology around them, with their families, and son on). Today more than ever we must be clear about one thing: our students never come to school with empty heads, they are not a Tabula Rasa, today we have everything in our hands, immediately so we must deal with that, work with these kinds of things and use them as part of our classes. Most of the time is very difficult, (work with technology) but the idea at the end is to give the necessary tools to our students to face reality with the necessary developed skills and with the necessary content (hopefully meanigful for them). In our personal practicums we can say that as a practical thing, most of the times we only give the content to the students (as if they were a Tabula Rasa), we do not necessarily create a critical thinking, or we do not make them feel aware about their learning. But as a practical application we must say that, what we teach now it is helpful for the students is not just content.

Education should raise the awareness of the students so that they become subjects, rather than objects, of the world. This is done by teaching students to think democratically and to continually question and make meaning from (critically view) everything they learn.
