In the New Formatting Rule dialogue box, select Use a formula to determine which cells to format. Type =MOD(ROW(),2)=0 into the formula box. This formula uses the modulo function to find the remainder of the row number divided by the value 2. If the row is an even row, the remainder will be 0. If the row is an odd row, it will be 1. According to our formula, whenever the remainder is 0, the format will be applied to the row.
