POST GRADUATE PROGRAMME IN ADVANCED CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT (PGP ACM)


INTRODUCTION This inter-disciplinary programme of studies builds upon the concepts and methodologies of management, engineering, architecture, law, information technology, social and behavioural sciences and combines theory with practice. This programme has been designed to suit the needs of students from India and other countries in the Afro-Asian region. The curriculum is a judicious blend of theoretical & applied courses both in general management & construction management accompanied with practical experience and research work. Theoretical courses aim to improve the students understanding of certain fundamental phenomena and relationships that characterize the changing world in which managers must operate. Applied courses, which occupy the bulk of the students time, link the theoretical studies to practical problems in the construction, infrastructure and real estate development projects. Practical experience is gained by a student through construction practice, site visits and summer training where the students learn to practice the newly acquired managerial skills under the supervision of an expert. Research gives him / her the faculty of scientific analysis of a problem and report writing skills. Computer application skills and knowledge of quantitative methods in managerial decision making are imparted through special courses in workshops / seminars. This programme of studies commenced in 1987 with UNDP / ILO technical assistance procured for NICMAR by the Government of India. The syllabi were first developed in 1986 at an international workshop of experts in management in the construction industry and in cooperation with the faculty members of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology & University of Michigan (USA), Loughborough University (UK) and leading Management & Technology Institutes in India and several industry leaders. Most of the aforesaid experts conferred again in 1997, 1999 & 2002 to evaluate the curriculum in relation to the new expectations of construction agencies operating in competitive global and domestic markets and a decade of changes in the practice of construction management. The programme was restructured to prepare NICMAR graduates for professional responsibilities calling for high proficiency in skills of applications of latest information technology, people management, project finance, international markets - all with a special reference to infrastructure development and real estate projects. All students who have successfully completed NICMAR programmes since inception to-date were selected for employment by reputed construction and other companies during the campus interviews. OBJECTIVES The objective of this programme is to develop a mature and responsible IT savvy professional techno-manager with the potential to manage construction business / projects at domestic and globally, to assume responsibility in diverse fields and deliver, and has following competencies: Sound knowledge of the theory and practice of corporate management. Proficiency in information technology, finance and people management skills. Understanding of construction and real estate development business, management of facilities and building services & infrastructure development projects. Skills and techniques of construction project management. Facility to apply the knowledge and skills to the effective delivery of the projects / functions assigned to him / her. Competency to handle a project in the specialized construction sector. Knowledge of information technology tools for professionalising information system in construction.

SPECIALIZATION Within the umbrella programme, students have the option to specialize in any one of the following streams: i. Infrastructure Development & Management (IDM) ii. Real Estate Development & Management (REDM) i. Infrastructure Development and Management Indian economy is currently witnessing rapid growth in the infrastructure sector. Government of India is also promoting the infrastructure development with huge investment in this sector. The infrastructure development projects consist of power, transport, airports, seaports, dams, bridges, telecom, oil and gas, water supply etc. Graduates of this programme would become planning engineers, designers of infrastructure projects, controllers & monitors, procurement & coordination executives and appraisers of project proposals submitted to funding agencies. ii. Real Estate Development and Management Real Estate Development and Management (REDM) has become an important business stream in the country. It is a high risk, high profit and competitive business. Many industrial houses and corporates

have diversified to this business. It is also attracting foreign investors. Metro centres are the hubs of this sector activity, though the growth could also be seen at most urban centres. Developers must develop competitive advantage and loss containment strategies. It has created a demand for professional managers who are specialized in the business environment in infrastructure. DURATION AND ORGANIZATION The programme duration is two years. It is organized into 7 terms, each term of approximate 13 weeks duration with suitable breaks. Terms 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 & 7 are devoted to classroom learning, acquiring hands-on experience in computer workshop, managerial skills workshop, construction practice workshop, site visits and learning research techniques and presentation skills. Summer Training is done in 4th trimester and Specialization in th the 6 trimester. Students sponsored by their employers and those from abroad, can return to their respective organizations / countries for summer training. ELIGIBILITY Candidates with a degree in Engineering or Architecture, from a recognized institution are eligible. Students seeking admission require to secure over 50% marks at graduation level. Final year students can also apply. ADMISSION PROCEDURE Selection of students is done by the Selection Committee. Admissions work is handled centrally at Pune. Those interested in admission to the programme have to submit applications on the prescribed forms to the Head Admissions, NICMAR Pune, along with the required documents mentioned in the application form within the specified date. All enclosures must be submitted. Incomplete applications will not be considered. All applications for admission are scrutinized and eligibility established on the basis of documents submitted. All eligible candidates are invited to undergo the selection procedure, which comprises the following: Total Marks: 250 i. Written Test covers 150 marks a) Data interpretation : 30 marks b) Quantitative and Analytical Ability : 60 marks c) English Language : 40 marks d) General Knowledge : 20 marks OR Candidate may submit his / her valid MAT/GATE/XAT/ATMA/CAT/GMAT scores secured after January 1, 2009. ii. Group Discussion (GD) : 20 marks iii. Personal Interview (PI) : 30 marks

iv. Rating of Applications (RA) : 50 marks The common pool Merit List is drawn on the basis of performance in written test / score, GD, PI and Rating of Applications (RA). All competing candidates appear in the Merit List in the order of their respective merit. Admission letters are issued in the serial order of the Merit List. Candidate's preference of a campus as well as programme will be considered, but the allotment will be done at the sole discretion of the Admissions Committee / Department. Candidates should appear for the selection procedure on the given dates. They have to make their own travel and living arrangements during selection process. ADMISSION UNDER SPONSORED CATEGORY The institute has the policy of admitting a limited number of students under sponsored category, not exceeding 5 % of the total students admitted. Candidates to be considered for admission under sponsored category must fulfill the following requirements: 1. Satisfy all the eligibility criteria for admission to the respective two-year full time Post Graduate Programmes of the institute as announced in the admission advertisement. 2. Must have appeared for the admission process of the institute including Written Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. 3. On selection should be willing to pay tuition fee, which will be 50% higher than the regular tuition fee for the respective programme. 4. Must be willing to forego the on campus placement assistance both for summer as well as final placement. 5. Produce an undertaking, duly signed by the sponsoring individual / organization as provided in Part III of the application form. TUITION FEES AND PAYMENT SCHEDULE The details of total amount of tuition fee payable for this course over two years are given below. The security deposit is refundable on successful completion of the programme. The tuition fee includes admission fee, term registration fee and other charges: i.e., fees for computer workshop, construction practice workshop and managerial skills workshop, examinations, evaluation, thesis work & assessments, contributions to library & students welfare fund, subscription to NICMAR Journal etc. The institute provides a free group accident insurance and group mediclaim policy covers all students for a period of 2 years from the date of admission.

The Schedule of Payment of Fees is given below: 1. 3. Policy for Cancellation of Admission and Refund of Fees The institute has a policy of considering refund of full first installment of tuition fee paid by the student at the time of acceptance of offer of admission. All such requests must be necessarily received by the Head Admissions under any circumstances not later than the date of commencement of classes of the first trimester of programme i.e. 11-07-2011. Under extenuating circumstances (like accident of self, long term illness, death / serious illness of the parents / guardian), request for cancellation of the admission may be considered upto 7 days after the commencement of the classes (Date: 18-07-2011). In such cases the institute shall refund the fees @50% of the first installment. No refund of fees will be admissible for any cancellation beyond this limit. All documentary proofs, duly certified by competent authority should be enclosed. In case the student applies for the above after a period of 7 days of commencement of programme, the Institute shall refund the Security Deposit of Rs. 3,000 only.

The following conditions apply to payment of fees and other dues. i. Fees once paid are non-refundable and nontransferable. ii. Fees are payable by Demand Draft drawn in favour of 'NICMAR SOCM' and payable at Pune. Cheques and cash will not be accepted. iii. The fees and other dues payable at the time of admission would be mentioned in Admission Letter. iv. The Fees are payable as per the schedule given, otherwise there will be Late fee as follows: Rs.100 for first seven days and thereafter Rs. 150 per day of delay. Hostel and mess fees are additional. v. The above fee includes a cost of 2 NICMAR T Shirts, one tie and one student bag. vi. Sponsored candidates will be required to pay 50% higher tuition fee compared to the merit students admitted to programme. Institute reserves the right to revise any / all of the components of above policy, including payment schedule and refund policy without prior notice. POLICY REGARDING REFUND OF FEE AND CHANGE OF PROGRAMMES 1. Students are discouraged from any change of programme or cancellation after they have been selected for a particular programme. 2. Policy for Change of Programme Students may apply for the change of programme from a full time two years programme to another full time two years programme. The application of request for transfer is to be made one week before the commencement of classes. Students have to pay Rs. 5000 alongwith transfer application towards transfer processing fee. All transfer request applications would be considered by the Admissions Department for final decision on transfer depending on the actual admissions in the concerned courses, eligibility -

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE The Institute offers merit scholarships, which are granted on the basis of academic performance of the candidate in each academic trimester. The Institute assists students who seek study loans from banks. Companies that accept students for summer training invariably offer allowances / stipends during training period. NICMARS MERIT SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME AND RULES Scheme These schemes are framed to institute, operate and disburse scholarships for students of various two year full time Post Graduate Programmes offered by NICMAR. Duration :
Trimester wise for all trimesters except summer training. Rs.2500 / month payable trimester wise. 10% Students of each PG Programme of each Campus, i.e., ACM, PEM REUIM and IFDM Programmes.

Rules i. Scholarships would be awarded on the basis of the Trimester Performance Index (TPI) of the concerned Trimester. ii. In case of any tie amongst candidates on same TPI, merit will be determined by Cumulative Performance Index (CPI). In case of tie again in CPI, maximum nos. of AA or AB will be taken. After that if once again there is a tie, then the scholarship amount will be spilt evenly amongst the concerned candidates. iii. Award of scholarship will be decided after declaration of each Term End Examination. iv. The scholarship will be paid after declaration of the same. The awardees of the scholarship may be assigned academic work of such nature and duration as may be decided by the Heads / Deans of the concerned programme, keeping in mind the overall need to keep such assigned work to minimum level possible. NICMARS EXCALIBUR AWARD A special award has been introduced by the institute to stimulate excellence and scholarship of the highest order among the student community of NICMAR. The award is titled Excalibur Award. It is awarded to the students securing the highest rank among all students of ACM (Pune, Hyderabad & Goa campuses), PEM, REUIM and IFDM programmes. The award is presented trimester wise and waives full tuition fee and hostel fee for the trimester in which the student has secured the highest rank. Merit holders for award of Scholarships and Excalibur Award should meet the following conditions. Breach of any one of the conditions shall make them liable to be disqualified for award of scholarship. i. The Awardee's attendance in any course of study shall not be less than 80 percent. ii. The Awardee shall have no adverse comments / grading on record from any teacher for any reason whatsoever. iii. Any act of indiscipline shall make the Awardee liable to forfeiture of the Award. iv. The decision of the Scholarship Committee shall be final and binding on all parties concerned. v. The Awardees shall maintain high standards in all conduct and behaviour and conform to the discipline of the Institute. vi. The decision of the Dean of the concerned School in regard to the forfeiture / suspension of the Award in pursuance of conditions stated in (i) to (iii) above shall be final. In case of any grievances, student may apply to the Director General. Such cases will be finalised by the Academic Council. No appeal will be allowed on the decision of the Academic Council.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT INSTITUTES (PMI) SCHORLARSHIP: Name of Scholarship: 1. PMI, India, Project Management Extraordinaire Merit Award 2. PMI, India, Project Management Merit Award in Project Management. Year of Establishment: July, 2010. Objective: To recognize exceptional merit of NICMAR students studying in Full Time Programmes of the Institute, in the area of Project Management. Frequency of Disbursement: Once every academic year, awarded on commencement of the new academic year. The scholarship is currently available to be awarded for five successive years. Nature: A cash award of Rs. 100,000/- for the topranking student and Rs. 25,000/- for the runner up, of PGP ACM / PEM / REUIM programmes, in project management subjects. Eligibility: Awarded to the student, studying in any of NICMARs two year Full Time Academic Programmes, securing the highest merit in project management subjects in the first 3 trimesters, across all centres of NICMAR. Description of Award: In recognition of a students academic excellence and commendable achievement in securing the highest merit in project management subjects, amongst all students in the institute. HOSTEL AND LIVING EXPENSES Hostel accommodation is available at Pune, Goa and Hyderabad campuses. Girl students granted admissions are housed separately. Pune campus has four hostels, which together provide 400 single occupancy and 80 shared occupancy for students of postgraduate programmes at Pune. Hyderabad campus has two hostels which provide 65 shared occupancy rooms. Goa campus hostel has capacity for 120 students on sharing basis. Attempt is made that all girl students who need hostel are given accommodation. For boy students, the accommodation is offered in the order of the merit list for admission prepared by the Selection Committee. All students have to rigorously abide by the code of conduct issued by the institute. The schedule of payment of NICMAR hostel fees is as under Hostel fee should be paid between commencement of each trimester and 7 days from it. For Pune & Goa campuses Single occupancy in campus : Rs. 3,000 / month Shared occupancy in campus : Rs. 2,500 / month Shared occupancy outside campus : Rs.2,250 / month

For Hyderabad campus Shared occupancy in campus : Rs. 2,250 / month.

The institute Mess facilities are run by the contractor hired by NICMAR under the supervision of the Manager, Premises and Services (P&S). The manager according to the suggestion of Students Co-ordinator prepares menu. Mess charges are approximately Rs. 125 per day for all the meals and snacks. Hostel and mess fees is payable together for the entire term within 7 days of the commencement of the term. In case of any delay, a late fine of Rs. 75/per day will be payable for the first 7 days, after which fine will be Rs.125/- per day. The hostel and mess fees once paid are non- refundable or nontransferable. Mess facility is mandatory for all students staying in NICMAR Hostels within campus and outside campus. Typically, the total living expenses including hostel, mess and others at Pune / Hyderabad / Goa campuses are approx. Rs.7,500 per month. ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS i. Course Work The list of courses offered term-wise is given in Table 1. Teaching Schedule and hours may vary depending upon situation. Typically, a full course of 7 credits involves 30 hours of teaching in 20 sessions and 90 hours of self-study by a student, totaling 120 hours. The course teacher may give one individual assignment to write (an assignment is approx. 2500 words), one group presentation and one class test. Non Credit Course One additional elective shall be offered in Fifth Trimester and students will have option to take any of the offered courses, as non credit course. However, a student is expected to prepare a non credit course as thoroughly as credit course. No. of students opting for a non-credit course shall not be more than 15% of the class strength. The distribution of credits for course work, including workshops, research thesis and internship training is shown below:

project planning, scheduling, monitoring and control and other packages for estimating, accounting Tally / Ex, ERP package, stores management, personnel management and / or generating outputs for a variety of purposes. He / she should be comfortable with Internet and multi-media systems. Every student spends at least 4 hours per week (most spend many more hours) in the Computer Centre where he / she gets hands on experience of all aforesaid types. Skilful and creative application of tools and techniques of information technology and use of computers in the practice of his / her profession is the trade mark of a NICMAR graduate. iii. Construction Workshop Practice (CWP) The objective of Construction Practice Workshop is to give hands-on experience in the practice of building trades, operation of construction machinery and doing construction. The students spend about 4 hours per week at building sites. They may work as masons, plumbers and carpenters; handle vibrators, operate dozers, dumpers etc. They do measurement, costing and estimating, prepare bill of quantities, tender documents and do quality inspections and learn the application of various Standards to construction processes. Students must equip themselves with safety helmets and boots at their own cost. The practice is supervised by experienced trainers on the sites. CWP are credit courses. Students pay for the site visits of CWP. Students are required to undergo training in Firstaid and gain a Certificate from the Competent Authority. They are expected to know car driving and two wheeler. iv. Managerial Skills Workshop (MSW) MSW is an important part of the curriculum. It gives hands-on experience in the following skills required of a manager. - Communication skills - audio visual and inter personal. - Listening skills show and tell skills and skills to manage difference. - Social skills. - Skills in dealing with selected work groups: clients, construction workers, government

inspectors, trade unionists. - Skills in understanding the socio-political state of projects and groups. Group assignments, audio-visual presentations, mock sessions, visits to labour colonies,

understanding work in government offices, formal social events are some of the indicators of what goes into MSW. Any expenses on the account of MSW will be borne by the students, if any. Students are required to undergo English language test. NICMAR organizes extra sessions on week-ends, on actual payment basis to improve English language for the students weak in English. NICMAR can also organize sessions of selected foreign language / s on weekends for the interested students (Subject to minimum 20) on actual payment basis. v. Project Thesis The Project Thesis is an independent qualifying requirement and also carries 6.67 percent weightage in the final evaluation. A student is expected to select a topic for his / her project thesis on a live problem in the industry or a macro-issue having a bearing on performance of the construction industry. The topic should be researchable in the given time and is approved by the Institute. It should involve scientific design of a study, collection and analysis of data and preparing a thesis in an acceptable academic style. A thesis is normally of 25000 words plus appendices etc. The student will be allotted a research guide by the Institute. If the student elects to have a guide from outside, the Institute will nominate one of the faculty members as a co-guide. Students are permitted to take up group projects wherever found suitable and approved by the Institute. These are evaluated by external examiners, wherever possible. vi. Summer Training As part of the curriculum each student has to undergo supervised field training with a reputed construction firm. During this period they can do their thesis work for which they have to select a live problem of the concerned company / industry and get it approved from the institute. Therefore, the summer work will make students research an applied research in the area of construction management. Agencies for practical training are carefully selected. The host agency is expected to nominate a senior officer to supervise the students work, be willing to pay a stipend to the student and hopefully may offer employment to the student trained by it. What the Institute looks for is meaningful and supervised work experience for the student. Sponsored students may be allowed to do training in their own organizations. Students are expected to arrange their Summer Training on their own.

REGULAR TEACHING FACULTY Faculty is the foundation on which the structure of NICMAR programmes is designed to grow. Therefore careful attention is paid to attract the best talent from the world of academia as well as the industry. - Core / Permanent Faculty - Associate Faculty - Visiting Faculty - Guest Faculty STUDENTS DEVELOPMENT NICMAR from time to time shall offer its students the advantage of Loyalty Programs of companies supplying useful goods and services, such as cell phones plans, media, internet services providers, restaurants and recreation firms, clothing brands, travel operators etc. PEDAGOGY NICMAR believes that the method of instruction for maximizing learning should vary from course to course, and therefore, uses of host of pedagogic approaches in different courses. Case studies, lectures, group and individual exercises, class projects, and simulation of business environment are used in different courses. DISCIPLINE AND CODE OF CONDUCT Students shall be courteous and formal in conduct with faculty, and staff at all times. Also they are expected to extend courtesies to all the management, faculty, administrative and support staff failing which an appropriate disciplinary action shall be taken against the erring student. A Code of Conduct for the students is issued at the time of admission. It is mandatory for all students to follow it. ASSESSMENT Assessment of students performance is done as per Guidelines of Academic Administration available in a printed booklet on request. The NICMAR learning system de-emphasizes lecturing, and examination system. Class work comprises 77 percent of total inputs. Examinations have only 54 percent weightage: Concurrent Internal Assessment makes up rest of 46 percent. A student may pass all examinations and yet may fail to qualify as Pass. High score in examinations does not necessarily get higher GPA. It is an all-rounder, team player person with analytical mind and proficiency in relevant skills who is likely to do better. i. Weightages The curriculum of ACM comprises course work, practical workshops and research thesis. The relative weightage of each component in the total package of 300 credit points is shown below:

himself of the correctness of the assessment done by the teacher. The essay assignment is also returned to the student after correction and evaluation by the teacher. This enables the student to be aware of his performance on an on-going basis. In case the performance is below standard, the student can request the teacher for a Make up Test and if his marks in the Make-up test are more, they will replace the earlier marks to improve the overall grade. iv. Joint Assessment Students Project works are subject to Joint Assessment by the Project Guide and an External Expert appointed for the purpose. The internship is also assessed jointly by the Company Supervisor of the student and the Faculty Supervisor, both nominated prior to the start of summer training. v. Viva Voce The Viva Voce may be held for all PGP ACM students on completion of all requirements of the programme. A panel of experts is especially constituted for the purpose. vi. Failure Cases NICMARs Post Graduate Programmes are high profile programmes to which students of a high calibre are admitted through a process of rigorous evaluation of their competence. It is, therefore, expected that no student will fail in any subject or will delay submission of Thesis without valid reasons. However, if any student fails to obtain minimum passing marks in any subject, his overall result will be withheld. Such a student will have to take examination by paying re-exam fees of Rs.1200/per subject along with the next trimester and obtain the minimum passing marks so as to enable him to qualify for the course. Similarly, non-submission of Thesis on time is viewed with displeasure. A candidate is not considered to have completed the programme unless she / he submits the Thesis and is adjudged as satisfactory, and given the ratings by the Examiner appointed for the purpose. If the students wish to get their examination paper/s re-evaluated then this can be done by payment of re-evaluation fees of Rs. 800 per paper. vii. Grading System Evaluation will be on Trimester basis. At the end of every Trimester, a Trimester Performance Index (TPI) and Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) will be calculated. The CPI at the end of

Project Work and Internship are assessed jointly by Project guide and external experts. It is to be noted that the Term-end examination covers the entire syllabus of the courses taught during the Term and also any additional information given by the teacher during lectures. iii. Concurrent Internal Assessment Concurrent Internal Assessment (CIA) is for 30 percent marks out of a total of 100 allotted for each course. The student must secure a minimum of 40 marks in a course for passing. The Concurrent Internal Assessment is done on a continuous basis by the teacher of the course concerned. The internal assessment is based on (i) one hour mid-term examination, (ii) an essay type assignment on a topic assigned by the course teacher, (iii) the students overall performance in the class, and (v) half-an-hour presentation in the class on a selected and relevant topic. The teacher concerned will announce the results of internal assessment in the class so that the students are aware of their performance. The answer books of mid-Term tests are returned to a student so that he can verify and convince

any trimester must not fall below 6.0. A student is permitted to accumulate a maximum of two failed grades throughout the course. In order to pass the programme a student should clear all F grades. Grades

AWARD Students who are assessed to have met all the academic requirements successfully are eligible to receive their PGP Certificates. In order to qualify for the Award, the student should meet successfully the following requirements: i. Minimum prescribed attendance of 80 percent in each course. ii. Minimum prescribed grades in each course. iii. Satisfactory completion of all practical workshops. iv. Satisfactory completion of summer training. v. Satisfactory Research Thesis. vi. Passing the final viva voce. vii. No dues payable certificate from the Institute concerned. PLACEMENT / JOBS As mentioned earlier, NICMAR is the best platform for students to get into reputed companies and hold responsible positions. NICMAR has near 100 percent placement record and all graduating students found good jobs before leaving the campus. Campus interviews are held at all campuses. Reputed companies are invited to visit campuses and select their future managers. The fact that NICMAR is a construction industry sponsored institution is a great advantage in students placement and employment. The Institute makes every possible effort to secure jobs through campus placement for every graduating student, but does not guarantee placement. PUNE CAMPUS NICMAR Pune Campus is situated at Balewadi, 14 kilometres away from the Pune Central Railway Station and seven kilometres from Pune University and the Expressway to Bangalore runs along the Institute. It has over 2,62,676 square feet built up area on 11 acre plot of land, using the latest materials and technologies having state-of-the-art

facilities blend harmoniously with the landscaped greenery all around. Physical infrastructure of the Campus include work area for 1000 students, 60 faculty & scholars and 100 support staff (classrooms, seminar rooms, tutorial rooms, auditorium hall, amphitheater, faculty cabins, offices, modern library, stack areas, reference section, documentation centre, scholars cabins, computerized catalogues, inter-campus online library, computer centres for 285 persons each to work at a time, internet and e-mail ID as www.nicmar.ac.in round the clock, chat rooms, a guest house, a modern and well appointed kitchen with capacity to serve 1,000 meals per day, students and faculty dining halls). Other facilities include Xerox center, solar heating, waste recycling plant, doctor, medical inspection room, first-aid kits, indoor and outdoor recreation infrastructure, i.e., foot ball ground, basket ball court, tennis court, badminton court (2), volley ball court (2), gymnasium, recreation hall with table tennis, carom boards, chess boards and T.V. with dish connection, stationery & supplies store and laundry facility. GOA CAMPUS PGP ACM Programme at Goa is conducted under the umbrella of a premium Institute, Mushtifund Saunstha, Ponda, Goa. Campus is located approximately 35 km from Panji. Campus is equipped with all necessary facilities and services, including Classrooms, Tutorial Rooms, Seminar Hall, Mess, Library and Computer Lab. Students hostel is located in the campus. It can accommodate 120 students. HYDERABAD CAMPUS (Construction Industry Staff College (CISC) Hyderabad campus is situated at Kondapur in National Academy of Construction (NAC) campus, 25 kilometres from Secunderabad Railway station and 3 kilometres from Hitech city. It is operating as Construction Industry Staff College and is a constituent unit of National Academy of Construction. NAC campus has been built on approx. 167 acre land. At present the surroundings are picturesque with a view of lakes, hills, woods, open spaces and clean crisp air. The premises currently used by NICMAR comprise 7 class rooms, a seminar hall, computer centre and library, offices and cafeteria. Students hostel can accommodate 130 students on twin sharing basis. SUPPORT SERVICES All infrastructural and educational support services including faculty are shared together by Pune, Goa and Hyderabad campuses. Faculty is interchangeable. i. Faculty The courses are taught by senior faculty members of the Institute, eminent practicing managers from leading construction agencies from all over the

country and visiting experts from Indian and foreign universities and international agencies. ii. Computer Centres NICMAR campuses at Pune, Goa and Hyderabad maintain well-equipped and modern computer centres. Each computer centre has sufficient number of computers of the latest technology (core 2 Duo) with leading construction business related application packages like Microsoft Project Management, Primavera (P6), Candy for Project Management and BRIX for contract management and SPSS, QE Pro for Data Analysis & Estimation and leading ERP packages like Microsoft Dynamics. An advanced digital Language Lab is available for students to get proficiency in English. Internet and e-mail facilities are available at all locations. Qualified and experienced staff heads the Computer Centres and the centres are open from 9 A.M. to 8 P.M. iii. Libraries Each campus is equipped with a library. The main library is at the Pune campus. This is a specialized library in construction management and the construction industry. It holds a collection of over 15,509 titles, 150 NICMAR registered cases, 78 periodicals (print) and 8 online resources at Pune alone. Library subscribes to all major technical and professional journals relevant to the mainline work of the Institute. The library provides text book services to students and research / reference support to faculty and scholars and useful information to construction enterprises. It is fully computerized and staffed by professionally qualified. iv. Internet and E-mail Facilities to access information on NICMAR and its activities and programmes on Internet and email are available at all campuses. 5 Mbps WiFi and 2 Mbps lease lines are available for internet access at NICMAR Pune Campus. v. Classrooms NICMAR has large capacity classrooms well equipped with public address system, LCD projectors, internet connections and airconditioners. vi. Extra-Curricular Activities Provisions are made for extra-curricular activities of students. Some of the more important ones are mentioned below: - Well-equipped facilities exist for indoor games, watching T.V., listening music and for general reading. At Pune, the international sports stadium is just across the road from campus and students can access swimming pools, gymnasia, field tracks and other facilities.

Hyderabad campus students may use facilities of the National Academy of Construction. - The students participate in the socio-cultural activities in the city and inter-collegiate competitions. - Students also bring out in-house magazines, newsletters and similar publications. All students at NICMAR shall mandatorily serve in either one of the community programs related to the following categories; Orphans, Underprivileged or Senior citizens.
