INTRODUCTION The incidence of dental caries has increased during the last 30-40 yrs in various age groups for varied reasons including change in food & dietary habits. It is therefore necessary that the dental health care system is geared to tackle the problems at its incipient stage. since it is during the school age, the permanent teeth erupt good dental hygiene is vital then. This can best be accomplished with sound dental health education in schools.WHY THIS STUDY......... Children in the age group of 10-15 yrs in NEELAMBUR frequently attended our OP with dental caries. Most of the children hardly had any knowledge about dental caries and its prevention . This made us to take up this study.OBJECTIVES e Find out the Prevalence of dental caries in 10-15 yrs e Assess the knowledge about dental caries among them e Health education on dental caries prevention.
