Anemia is one of the most common factors complicating
pregnancy. Surveys in different parts of India indicate that 50-60% of
women belonging to low socio-economic groups are anemic.
* An overall prevalence of anemia in pregnancy is of the
magnitude of 58.99% of which 4.13% are severely anemic.
* The major etiological factor being iron & folic acid
deficiency.
