Haydon colts sold to leading studs

A successful Colt Sale held at Haydon Horse Stud on Saturday 5th October saw top colts go to leading breeders. Top priced colt HAydOn OrbiTAl sold for $26,000 to Terry blakes rosebrook Stud. The 3 year old colt is by HAydOn nigHTwATCH, and his full brother HAydOn SATElliTE (AUS) currently stands at stud in the United States. The Haydon family has bred horses continually on the same property since 1832. in her opening address, Chairman, Ms Joy Poole called it an 'iconic stud', and one of the oldest family studs not only in Australia but in the world. Many commented on the excellent presentation and handling of the colts, and the beautiful and historic surrounds. HAydOn blACkwATCH, a five month old colt by HAydOn nigHTwATCH, sold for $10,000 to Andrew and Julie Sutton, who also purchased HAydOn riCO, taking two colts back to Victoria. doug Munro with his family purchased HAydOn SATUrn and HAydOn iMAgE for their breeding program at 'Tullatula' in Merriwa, new South wales. koobah Performance Horses secured HAydOn HECTArE and HAydOn ZOrbA, who will both be performed by Phillip Elliot. James and bec Hockey with the help of her father, robert doolin (who has had a long association with Haydon horses), selected HAydOn ZAnE to join to their mares at 'Springfield', Spring ridge, new South wales. He was the oldest son offered by the classically bred TECHriCO, who is by Zabeel from champion mare Vaindarra. Helen batterham and Mandy blomfield, who both judged at the breeders Championships held at Scone on the same weekend, purchased HAydOn ACrES and HAydOn HiTECH respectively. The sale was conducted by MacCallum inglis, and was followed by a bbQ dinner.
