How to Pray for the Election of a

District Superintendent
Rocky Mountain View, looking to the future with faith and optimism
www.rmdview.blogspot.com

Knowing that the most underutilized source of spiritual power in ministry today is the
intercession for Christian leaders, the moderators of the www.rmview.blogspot.com blog invite
you to join us in praying for the election of our new District Superintendent. The moderation
team is working with District Superintendents around the nation to compile a list of ways
to pray FOR THE PERSON of the District Superintendent. However, we recently
approached General Superintendent, George Wood, for a suggested list of things to pray
for regarding the ELECTION of the new District Superintendent. Here are the items in
his February 5th email to the moderation team.

2. That the person chosen will truly be a Christ-like individual who models servant
leadership and mentors a new generation of ministers.
3. That a person will be chosen who can best lead the district by resourcing ministers
and churches and fostering relationships.
4. That the person chosen be one of wisdom who can help resolve conflicts and deal
with difficult situations and failures.
5. That the leader chosen will have the capacity and gifting to truly lead.
6. That the leader chosen have a heart for and capacity to promote, inspire, and
motivate young people in service to Christ.
7. That the leader selected be passionately committed to the Great Commission at
home and abroad.
8. That the person selected be an individual who has or can gain the respect of the
laity and church boards.
9. That qualified persons would not remove their name from consideration unless
the Holy Spirit has told them to do otherwise.

*The Moderation Team would like to thank George Wood for his timely response to our
request. We would also like to invite our district ministers to join us in praying for both
this list, as well as the coming 30 Days of Prayer. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO RESPOND
