FORMS OF PRESENTING THE RESULTS

Textual form is the simplest method of presenting data when there are only few numbers to be presented. In this form, the results are explained in paragraph form. Example:
Using frequency percentage, the results showed that 150 out of 192 or 78.13% of 4th year high school students of San Beda College Alabang find performance tasks very effective as a tool in assessing their understanding of lessons.

FORMS OF PRESENTING THE RESULTS

In tabular form, the data are presented by means of statistical tables. The tables are arranged in rows and columns. Each category in the table is placed in a row or column and the data are assigned in suitable cells. In this way the reader can compare immediately the different data in different categories.

FOUR ESSENTIAL PARTS OF A STATISTICAL TABLE

Table caption includes the table number and heading. It explains briefly the contents of the table. It is placed above the essential parts. Stub refers to rows of the table found at the left. Box heads are headings within the box of the table wherein the data are emphasized. Body refers to the main part of the table containing the figures placed in columns aligned with the box heads.

FORMS OF PRESENTING THE RESULTS

Graphical form gives the reader a clear picture of the data. There are various kinds of graphical representation like the histogram, bar graph, line graph, or pie chart.

FOUR ESSENTIAL PARTS OF A STATISTICAL GRAPH

Caption (similar to table caption) includes figure number and heading. It explains briefly the contents of the table. It is placed below the essential parts. Y-axis refers to the vertical line contents. X-axis (similar to stub) refers to the horizontal line contents of the figure wherein the data are emphasized. Body refers to the main part of the table containing the rectangular bars for bar graphs and lines for the line graph.
