User Classification

Classify users according to the following user types. Descriptions and examples of the various user types have been provided for you. If you are not sure which user types to select, please refer to the terms of your contract or ask your SAP sales contact person.
This document contains supplementary information about SAP AG s product licensing. If there are any contradictions with the terms of your contract, the terms of your contract and the price list that your contract is based on apply.

SAP Applications
Select the SAP Applications price list in the measurement program to access the user types of the SAP Applications price list. Depending on your current basis release or support package, you may not be able to select certain user types. To add data to your user types table, you can import a report into the system.

ID User type Definition SAP Application Professional is a Named User authorized to access SAP Applications who performs operational related or limited performance management roles supported by the licensed software. Limited performance management roles are defined through viewing of information (such as reports, ad hoc queries, and dashboards) presented by Packages for Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), by Packages for Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) or by the Business Information and Analysis Package from the SAP BusinessObjects portfolio provided that those Packages are licensed. The SAP Application Professional User license includes the rights granted under a SAP Application Limited Professional User license.

SAP Application Limited Professional is a Named User authorized to access SAP Applications who performs limited operational related roles supported by the licensed software. For example, users accessing the software solely through handheld device scenarios or manager self-service users may be licensed as Limited Professionals. The agreement should define in detail the limited use rights being performed by such Limited Professional Users (see below). In particular employees of Business Third Parties may be licensed as SAP Application Limited Professional Users. Those employees of Business Third Parties that are performing functions or roles normally performed by the Licensee's employees, for example independent contractors, consultants or temporary employees need to be licensed as SAP Application Professional Users. The SAP Application Limited Professional User license includes the rights granted under a Business Information User and an Employee User license. The number SAP Application Limited Professional Users shall not exceed fifteen percent (15%) of the total number of SAP Application Professional Users licensed. SAP Platform Professional User is a Named User who (i) accesses the licensed SAP software only through a 3rd party application that either is a Platform User License Compliant Solution or that interface through enterprise services as defined in the Enterprise Service Repository provided by SAP or through BAPIs provided by SAP and (ii) performs operational related roles supported by the software. The SAP Platform Professional User license includes the rights granted under a SAP Platform Limited Professional User license. It also includes the rights granted under a user-based SAP NetWeaver Foundation for Third Party Applications license. SAP Platform Limited Professional User is a Named User who (i) accesses the licensed SAP software only through a 3rd party application that has been classified as a Platform User License Compliant Solution after an integration certification test by the SAP Integration and Certification Center and (ii) performs limited operational

Those employees of business third parties that are performing functions or roles normally performed by the customer's employees, for example independent contractors, consultants or temporary employees need to be licensed as Professional Users. The number of Limited Professional Users shall not exceed fifteen percent (15%) of the total number of Professional Users licensed. The SAP Platform Limited Professional User license includes the rights granted under an SAP Platform Employee User license. It also includes the rights granted under a user-based SAP NetWeaver Foundation for Third Party Applications license.

If there are any contradictions with the terms of your SAP software contract or with an agreement with your SAP Sales representative, then the terms of your contract, the SAP price list that your contract is based on, and any agreements with your SAP Sales representative take precedence. Users who has to work in multiple clients or systems

If consolidating with LAW, classify these users according to their activity. If not classifying with LAW, classify the users in the main client/system once in the highest group as a chargeable user. In other clients and systems, you can classify this user as a multiclient/multisystem user.
