Wow! Summer is almost over? We have had an exciting summer at GOPCC and its not over yet! Hopefully you were able to attend our events. Here is a highlight: We had a tour of Presort First Class and the Edmond Main Post Office in June. Presort gave us a tour of their facility and how they handle mailings. Larry Chandler (Postmaster) of Edmond and his employees showed us how they handle Undeliverable as Addressed mail. Talk about live education! The event was very eye opening to help us understand how important it is to address an envelope the right way the first time. Susan Plonkey, US Postal Service Acting President of Sales was our special guest speaker at the June 17th luncheon. She is always a great guest speaker for us and her discussion on the future of the USPS was very educational. July 10th we had our third annual car show. There were over 130 cars at the event! July 22nd we had a special educational session about Business Reply Mail with a panel of experts to answer questions. That brings us to more exciting events scheduled for the near future! Plans are in the works for a series of webinars on IMB (Intelligent Mail Barcode) with the first one planned for August. In September we will have a special guest speaker for National PCC Day (September 15th, 2010). Bob Dvonch from the US Department of Homeland Security will be our guest speaker. Bob is the Director of the Postal & Shipping Sector. He will be discussing the Security Exercises that Homeland Security is putting on. This event will also include educational sessions; a catered lunch as well as the National PCC Day Broadcast live from Portland Oregon. In October we will have our annual golf tournament with part of the proceeds donated to The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. Thanks,

Roy Walker
Industry Co-Chair
