3 Engage Teach (questions are imported into the CPS software) Page 4 Reports/Results For Engage Verbal or Engage Teach-If you want to take a grade you need to have student names loaded into CPS or answers are done anonymously. There is a how-to on Importing Names into CPS from Power Teacher. For Engage Teach- There are how-tos on importing your questions.

This how-to is just on using the CPS Clickers.

ENGAGE VERBAL Asking Questions ON THE FLY (Use with Websites, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, CD Rom content, Videos) Have your website, questions, (whatever you are using) open and minimized at the bottom of your screen. Plug in receiver. Open the CPS. a) From the Engage tab, click the Engage Verbal icon.

b) Type a Session Title, category, and choose desired class. Click OK. c)The Engage Toolbar appears and will float over any content that you would like to display (ex. websites, MS PowerPoint, CD Rom content, videos) -- you can move the tool bar to place on screen in desired position by grabbing the blue cross.

Maximize your website, document, etc. (whatever you are using) d) Click the Verbal button on the Toolbar and select the type of question from the pull- down menu (i.e.: Multiple Choice, T/F, etc).

e) Bar will change to have numbers. Students may enter responses on clickers. When all responses are received by number turning dark blue click End to stop receiving responses.

f) A chart will pop up showing the results from that question. You can mark the correct answer (optional) by using the Correct Answer pull-down menu at the bottom of the charting screen.

g) Close the charting screen.

h) Repeat by selecting desired question type button on toolbar (ex. A-B questions, T/F, Y/N, 123 (numeric). If all questions are the same type from when you started the lesson you can just click on Start each time.

If you want to slow down the pace of the students responding wait to press start. They cannot answer until you press Start. i) To end the session, end the questions, close charting screen and select the Close button on the toolbar. j) Results may be reviewed in the reports tab (see page 4)

ENGAGE TEACH
Engaging Exam View, Power Point or Teacher Made Questions

(questions are in CPS software) Plug in the receiver. Open the CPSa) In the Engage tab, click in the box beside the lesson you want to engage

b) In the Engage Options section, edit info for Title of lesson, Type of lesson and Class if needed (make sure you select the correct class you are working with) c) Select Engage Teach

Next, a floating toolbar will appear on your desktop

a) Select Options: make sure show large screen is checked. You can also select other preferences here. Then select OK b) Select Next (#1) c) Start question by selecting the start button (note: questions can be started automatically if checked in options) students may respond to question; once all students have responded, select end

Number shows if student has responded (will turn dark blue if responded). Students may change their answer until you end the question. Their number will flash yellow if answer is changed.

Close when finished lesson. Results may be reviewed in the Reports tab. (see page 4)

REPORTS/RESULTS
To review reports/results, select Report Tab 1) Select which lesson/assessment (to highlight- left click on desired lesson) Note the last lesson or assessment you do is always on the top of the list: see the date/ time to search for older lessons/assessments. You can also delete any item in the list as desired.

2) Select Generate Date/time of lesson 3) Select which type of report you want (4 most used reports)

-Instructor Summary- individual grades for each student -Question Report- every response for every student for every question -Study Guide-Class Summary- individual reports for every student -Response Report-% of responses for entire class for every question

4) Select Preview 5) Review Results 6) Select Output on left side of screen to print report, create PDF, Excel spreadsheet, etc
